In the EL we can swap Werner for a CF.
What happens if Solanke gets injured and /or Richy breaks down again? I like Big Will but can he suddenly be first choice in the EL and domestic games?
Again, what happens if Drag gets injured? Dorrington, who has not even started a game?
And if Biss gets injured while Bents is out? Olusesi?
We need minimum 3 in.

To answer your questions...

1. What happens if Solanke gets injured?

This is the scariest scenario. As I said in my original post, we have Richarlison (now fit again), Lankshear and Son, or Kulusevski / Sarr as false 9's. Note that our best performance last season was probably at home to Man City (thank god we did not win) where Sarr played as a false 9. Another CF to compete with Solanke is a MUST, and if we can get the right person in now I'd be over the moon. Not sure there are any suitable CFs available though.

2. What if Drag gets injured? Dorrington, who has not even started a game?

We have Romero, VdV and Davies all returning from injury in the next couple of weeks, to relieve Dragusin and Gray. I'd start Dorrington in the FA cup game this weekend even if Dragusin was not injured.

3. What if Biss gets injured while Bent is out? Olusesi?

I'd pick from Gray, Bergvall, Sarr. If Romero or VdV are back from injury in two weeks as suggested I'd play Gray there even if Biss is not injured.

We'll probably have to agree to disagree, but the crucial point remains - if we buy 3 more players (a CF, a DCM and a CB) in this window we won't be able to register 2 of them in the Europa League, as irrespective of who we de-register we can only make a max of 3 changes (with 2 being Spence and Kinsky).

The league season is a write off due to our last 10 games being impacted by injuries. If we bring in one player I would bring in a forward on loan, preferably one who can play across the front 3. That makes the Muani links credible. January will be near on impossible to make the strategic upgrades we need at CB/DCM/CF/RW (noting that players will need to leave as well).

I would be quite happy if we sold Dragusin, Bissouma, Richarlison and released Werner to make space for those upgrades but that simply is not realistic now. And if we did manage it, we'd lose those 4 players from the EL squad and could only use 1 of the replacements in EL games, making our EL squad 3 players smaller - too small to be successful. This last phase of the rebuild needs to happen in the summer, when the best targets are available.

We just need to brave and play Lankshear. League finish is done anyways I don't really see what the worry is letting Lankshear play through any growing pains- he has done very well and even broke his duck against good opposition.

Agree. And starting this weekend. Solanke should get a nice rest this weekend and be allowed to stay home and recharge his batteries.

There is something about Kolo Muani that most people don't know. His first choice was the Greek league because of the sun and the nice food. There was a slight problem though. His name. Kolo is the Greek word for ass. And, as if that was not enough, Muani is the word for cunt. So, he had to forget the sun and the nice food and settle for England instead.

Of course, if we finally sign him, he will never be the subject of discussion in Ange's home.
