???....you've obviously not being paying attention to 2nd place Forest!!....they're playing very well, he's playing very well, they are the only team to beat Liverpool in the league this season....at Anfield too....🤷‍♂️
He's a good player is he top level like the op was claiming last year? Na what's he on 2 goals and 3 assists. Tidy player chips in now and again but a top level winger I don't think so. And I'll put my house on the fact that wherever elliot goes he'll put up better performances and better G/A stats . And we can save this post and come back to it come end of the season if he goes Brighton or dortmund or wherever.

reckon it's waffle they just bought 2 CF's and haven't shifted Rashford yet.

Trophies has fuck all to do with it. Pay the wages, get the player. It's a business with a very small window to make money in. Trophies is something all players want to do but generally speaking the clubs that pay the highest wages also win the most trophies so they hardly ever have to choose either or. Playing time factors more than trophies. Market size of the club for the player's brand image after that. Trophies after both of those.

In this case, none of Juve, Spurs or UTD are guaranteed trophies and the wages offer will be pretty similar so it will come down to who is prepared to offer the best financial package to the club and player. No reason we can't compete.

If it wasn't about trophies kane would still be here,we'd of seen the likes of Bale,Berbatov,Modric,Carrick etc in their prime in our colours. Any decent player that isn't a mercenary the ability to win things will be a factor if he's an elite player.

All of those players went to club's that doubled or tripled their wages. None of them would have moved if the buying club was offering lower wages than they were already on.

Of course players want to win trophies. Emotionally it's the best moment in their careers but signing an employment contract is a business decision and you don't make business decisions based on emotions. The rare exemption is someone like Bale who already earned as much as anyone could ever hope to and won more than any player dreams of. Then he had the luxury of making an emotional return to Spurs.

Kolo-Muani is 26. This next contract will be 4-5 years and take him past his peak years. It will likely be his last big one. Maybe t goes incredibly well and he ages incredibly well and he can get another big move with 2 years left on it. Either way, his primary factor for deciding his next club will be money, as it should be.

Spurs can compete with all the listed clubs on wages if they want to. His family will love London and playing PL football in London will be great for his brand and marketing. All things considered, there's nothing to say we shouldn't be his preferred destination.

Will Still???

What in the fucking hell were his parents thinking?? They must have been high when they baptised him!

That's certainly part of their thinking, but that's quite easy when the team after you is winning them like it's going out of fashion.

It also helped that they all more than doubled their wages.

Why did all those top class players go to Chelsea and City when the new owners arrived. They weren't attracted by the trophies, as neither had won anything of note before Abramovich & Mansour for years. They were paid huge wages though.

Wait so you think bale and modric would of turned down REAL MADRID to stay with us if we only matched their wages. And you also believe the same for Carrick and Berbatov for leaving for United when there were the best team in the country? You think that was purely for money?

You think Real Madrid and United would be the dominant forces they are/were if they could be financially matched by Tottenham Hotspur? Especially in the early 2000’s?
