Transfers January Transfer Thread 24/25

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

We’re not.

I reckon they want him to resign tbh to save them a ton of cash.

Knowing levy there will be some kind of clause where we can sack him for less money if he doesn’t get European competition. So we will wait until that is unattainable and to hell with the bigger picture. It all feels a bit similar to the Mourinho situation. That January he really needed a striker but we didn’t even try to bring anyone of note in.

Why are there so many people on this thread who are 'shocked' / 'amazed' / 'in disbelief' that we've not made signings this month? How many January windows do you have to go through before you understand that this is the norm, we never buy lots of players in January, no one does, no one ever has or ever will, and an injury crisis won't make any difference to that, never has and never will. So it's not 'shocking' at all - a shock is by definition something you weren't expecting - given all the criticism of the owners on this forum, how can the same people be 'shocked' when the owners act exactly as those people say they always act. :/
Unprecedented challenges require unprecedented action.

2009 January transfer window being an example. 2 points from 8 games and a battle to return to the top 10. Palacios, Keane, Defoe and £50m spent in January which came in addition to money spent (perhaps badly) in Summer.

2025 coming off 5 points from 10 games. A battle exists to get a draw or to avoid a real relegation scrap. They spend £12m on a back up keeper, when the club already had 3 back up keepers. No argument they didn’t need a backup improvement. But here all they did was bring forward a deal agreed already for the summer.

Yeah. Your are right every is over reacting. It’s fine and normal to cough up points to Ipswich, Wolves, Leicester etc. that’s what we do every season…

No-one does (City have already signed three)

11 fit players. My Sunday side has far more options than us

Where did I say that? Did you read someone else's post and confuse it with mine. :/

What I'm saying is, if you spend your entire life saying ENIC are the worst owners we can possibly have blah blah blah then don't act all shocked when they 'do bad things', it doesn't make sense. If they are as bad as you always say they are, then this is exactly what you should expect.

Oh. Ok. Was missing your point 👍

It was a sad read to be honest mate. It hits home hard what we are and where we are going. As fans we now have a duty to make noise. Supporters hire and fire managers if they make enough noise but for some reason we don’t make Levy and ENIC uncomfortable. There are the odd protest but nothing that will make a difference.
Maybe it’s time for us supporters to step up and really find a way to be heard. Is that not buying season tickets, not buying anything at the club, not travelling to away games or just going to the games and making a real fucking noise about how bad it is?
It’s hard because there’s thousands that will still want to go and support the team because that’s what we’ve done all our lives but these owners are killing our club from a footballing perspective.
Levy and ENIC will argue the club is in a great position of how it’s run but they have a duty of care to us supporters who want to win as much as possible but they obviously don’t give a fuck.
Is this all a big plan to make the club a more viable purchase or is it that they just don’t care about winning?

I want to be able to enjoy being a Tottenham supporter again because it’s been well and truly taken away from me. The Woolwich game in the second half was the first time in my life where I was silent and had nothing in me.

Sad times and as I said that piece is a sad read.
You wanna hurt them gangsters, hit them where it really hurts...stop giving them your money. As friggin simple as that. If a majority of proper fans did that, the cunt & his cronies would've to listen and change.

But so many don't/won't cause they're friggin addicted and Levy is a fantastic drug dealer.

Believe me, it pains me to no longer put any money into my club...at least nothing substantial, nowhere near the tons I used to spend on ST, merch & co year in year out. But it's the stand I've taken for a few seasons now cause the pisstake gotta stop.

Now is the time to act. Not tomorrow, not next week, not next season. Now. It literally is getting to that stage where it's life or death for the once wonderful institution that was Tottenham Hotspur FOOTBALL CLUB.

Thing is, even if we got relegated, Levy would always find plenty Shadies, Harries and LPs to do his bidding. It's unreal.

I suppose it's because even for ENIC we're in what seems uncharterd waters. I don't remember how long it's been since we were such a mess on the park, and I think most of us assumed even ENIC could see that Ange isn't waving, he's drowning.

Not building on previous success is a well known and expected ENIC plan. Not doing anything at all about floundering in 15th in the table with half a team injured is new.

TBH I can turn that question on it's head and ask you why you're questioning apparent grown adults on this forum with their repeated faux outrage behaviour and temper tantrums during transfer windows hehe ;)

People love to be outraged, it's the Internet norm nowadays especially for Spurs fans because if you're not having a go at the club and moaning like a complete Karen then you're not doing this fan thing right or whatever and everything needs to met with derision and contempt...I guess people are coping but then again people tend to overdo it every 6 months on here anyway.

So despite all the things you've said about ENIC and Levy previously, you're now saying you're surprised at this? Sorry but that just doesn't make sense. Uncharted territory or not, if they were the horrific owners you have always claimed, not caring about the football side etc, then surely this should be exactly what you expected?

'Outrage' may be understandable from people who hold those sorts of opinions and are generally outraged by anything that Levy does or doesn't do. 'Shock' / 'Amazement' / 'Disbelief' are not understandable at all, they make no sense in the context of what has previously been said by the same people a million times over.

"All the things I've said about ENIC previously" includes the fact I've repeatedly and openly said that up til the last couple of years I was fully onboard with what they were doing, or at least thought they were doing.

And no, I never expected them to see us 15th in the table and not give a single shit, not even them. This is literally uncharted waters, ENIC have always done something when things started looking dire before. Usually a change of manager, granted, but at least something. So far all we're hearing is "determined to back the manager" then crickets.

This is new behaviour from them, and I don't know why you're surprised that people are surprised by it.

I bow to no man in my ENIC-out designs and general dislike of the infernal bald warlock.

But we have actually been one of the more active clubs during January, especially in recent years. Perhaps it plays into Levy’s sexual delight at the prospect of a bargain.

Nothing is happening today either is it?
