Transfers January Transfer Thread 24/25

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

If we are going to spend this kind of money, then we should be getting a better player. Tapsoba being the obvious one. Hopefully Lange can cook some others up, but we don't need 70m on another bang average, unexceptional player (about 30m of which is English hype tax).
Well, he’ll be cheaper in the summer with 12 months left. Palace are never gonna let someone go for nowt again like they did with Zaha. I imagine it’ll be one of those ones that run all summer.

That is really clever.
If he doesn't want to stay at THFC I don't want him here either.
Thing is as well if he starts plenty of matches and plays well he will probably be keen to trigger the clause. Assuming it is Kane and Olise ahead of him in the pecking order at Bayern he is never going to break into that team until Kane retires or comes back to England for one last hurrah to break the all time PL record. If things are going well for him here he will be keen to continue that at such a young age as will be plenty of time even if he stayed for an entire 5 year deal for him to get a move either back to Bayern or another elite club, should we not be at that level at that time. He would have to be utterly phenomenal for us for Bayern to tap him up into coming back, I think they're more keen to bank the cash.

The option to buy even though it is essentially meaningless as the selling club can still accept equal bids from rival teams, the player can reject the move an the loan club can refuse to trigger, formalises that there is at least acknowledged interest on all sides of making such a deal permanent if it's working out well, whereas straight loans with no option always have the implication of being purely a development loan, or the loaning club feeling a bidding war could arise in the following window and is happy to kick the can down the road til then.

Palace's defence is rock solid this season, and Guehi has largely been the reason for that. He's only 24 which is young for a centre back and already a regular feature for the England team, granted we are not exactly awash with options there but he will only get better as his reading of the game improves and physically he is an imperious defender, I think if we could steal the jump on the other no doubt very good sides that will be after his signature to the tune of £50m it's a fucking steal tbh, only risk is Palace dragging it out to get other clubs interested. We might be in a position to include Dragusin in a deal provided he'd pass a medical on the stipulation that he is fit to play by the start of the season? You could see him being back from the ACL injury by August if he has a good recovery.

A lot of PR and deadline day fireworks, but when you strip back the bullshit, still a very meh window.

Kinsky - good signing.

Danso - seems solid. Cheap and cheerful squad player but should (and most certainly could) have been signed in the first couple of days of the window.

Tel - promising young player that will hopefully help us now and be a long term replacement for Son, but Levy/Lange were seemingly spared their blushes by Ange taking it upon himself to contact him and clean up the mess them two muppets made of convincing him to sign.

It’s bodies in the door and hopefully they all are able to provide the help Ange has been crying out for for what seems like an eternity, but all in all it was another classic ENIC shit show window, with no plan or strategy of any description evident.
How can they suddenly find £70m for a CF ??
There is no planning at this club, it all kneejerk reaction

Son - Richy - Tel is our best lineup until Solanke is back. Keep Kulu in the midfield rotating with Madders.

Tel - Solanke - Odobert could be electric if the latter ever gets fit.

With Richy and Solanke in the picture I don't think we will see much of Tel as a 9. We are weaker on the wings so he can have more of an impact there.
It guess it depends on how Tel begins. If he is scoring plenty of goals he will be ahead of Solanke when he returns from injury. Good depth if Solanke was back up striker.

A front three of: Moore, Tel, Ajayi would look pretty impressive.

In saying all that I think Ange might start him at RW. That seems our weakest area upfront.

Do we need HG players that badly?

There has to be a bunch of CBs more worthy of 70m out there?

Tapsoba would be class. Either of the Bournemouth CBs, Van Hecke…

Another 19 year old. I suppose some deluded fans still believe Ange has something to do with Transfers. What's worse, he predominantly plays on the wing. We really needed a Winger more than ........ a CDM? There was a reason BM played him mostly as a sub. They have, more experienced, better players.

Shows how ambitious we are. We've bought a whole lot of youngsters (Granted with potential) from clubs who saw those youngsters as surplus. Spurs has become nothing but 'The Surplus Store.

Another Shit Transfer Window. Don't expect much change this season .

At 8 it’s hard to tell, Kane is the proof of that . By 15- 18 I would think the clubs have a pretty good idea if they will be elite level . Yes some will make it at a decent level but , Chelsea , Woolwich ,Liverpool , United and City will want to keep those top tier prospects . Chelsea paid 40 million to get Palmer iirc . Let’s see if Lankshear makes it , I smell Rohan Ricketts in a different position . Fingers crossed for these kids but I’m sceptical , we paid 40 million for Gray and he looks a star . Cheap 18 year olds are exactly what they seem cheap punts .

The difference is that Levy only makes cheap punts. Name one Elite Player we have bought in the past 5 seasons. Just one Elite Starting Player from a Top 5 club in any of the Top leagues. Every signing has been a Punt, Youngster or Bargain Bin find. I don't mind a few Youngsters to they plan to Mentor but we are Mentoring almost the whole team.
