The BBC are funded by a compulsory public levy ; they are therefore held to account in a way a commercially funded business wouldn’t be .

(I’m not referring to the bad old days of the 60s 70s 80s etc …. things have changed a lot ( for the better) since those dark ages . ) .

JJ , for reasons that escape me , was presented as the Golden Boy of presenting / punditry . As someone has previously remarked he must have had a F&£@ing good agent. I can understand why’he considered himself “ untouchable “ . I bet he couldn’t believe his luck .

Once you ( misguidedly ) believe that you’re immortal : death comes sooner rather than never .

FWIW : I’ve nothing against him per se , I just think he was very very mediocre at doing what he was paid a fortune to do .

In one way ; he’s done us all á favour in getting himself taken off the pay-roll. That money will now , hopefully, be better spent .
