You guys…

This is the 6 we have been screaming out for.

I doubt he plays against a low block team where Frank will prefer 2 x 8’s. But where Frank wants to play 3 at the back against Liverpool for example this guy is perfect to protect the space in front.

Frank doesn’t have one system. He adapts to the opposition and this signing offers a lot of flexibility.
That's fair I just hope that he is used accordingly and we don't go over the top playing him against teams from the bottom half.

Gotta be angry about something I guess.
And any good signings such as Kudus and MGW (the signing that was supposed to be) are down to Levy handing control to the new regime of Vania and Lange but when MGW signing goes to shit or we sign Palhinho on a loan it’s Levy being cheap or screwing it up.

People don’t see their own contradictions.

West Ham or Brentford level signing.

May as well be honest with ourselves and call it what it is.🤷‍♂️... Hugely uninspiring.

Nobody would have been surprised or batted an eyelid if he'd signed for either of them.

Exploiting an opportunity lingering in the left overs from the Kane / Bayern deal rather than aggressively signing the kind of quality we could and should be chasing.

Let's just hope he exceeds expectations.
He was the best DM in the league just a few seasons ago. Bayern bought him for 60m+ how is that a West Ham or Brentford signing (35 year old Henderson for comparison).

Seems like you are just complaining for the sake of it.

Palhinha is clearly the cheap option but there is a very good player in there to be utilised.

Frank would have loved him at Brentford, and im sure here too, so will be interesting to see how Palhinha is utilised and how well he plays.
A very good point, we as fans are entitled to our expert views which pale into insignificance compared to those of the incumbent manager, in our case TTTE.

I still do not understand so many of the fans here. This is fucking amazing deal that is addressing our absolute biggest issue in the team. With EPL proven player. That also adds experience to fairly young squad.

And we still bitch and whine?

Yes, I am not claiming that he has Pirloesque passing range in his backpocket. But come on, with him in the midfield roaster we are CLEARLY BETTER OFF than without him. Are we really expecting that one player would do it all - block the ball in our goal-line, takes the ball under control, dribbles past every single opposition player and then fire it into opposition net? Or is it maybe that it is a teamsport. And one players limited parts can be compensated with others around him maybe? Clearly player with good defensive reflexes and awareness can help others around him to push on. Not to mention that DM role is not just helping to park the buss in our own box. He can also intercept and win the ball close to opposition final third, pass the ball to main creators to create and finish the chance.

So in my eyes this is close to perfect signing. Might not stay and play for 6+ years, but we have upcoming talents for future. We need a good player RIGHT NOW that would improve the side. And he so clearly does that. Welcome Palhinha, come on board and fuck up some opposition players now! Lot of strong and resolute tackles, please and thank you!

Ah welcome to the forum! You must be new here.

Let me introduce you to Tottenham Massive Tottenham Massive , who is chief 'bitch and whiner'. Thinks he speaks for the masses, yet disappeared after our fantastic Europa League win. Will find absolutely any angle to complain and moan about the club.

Has a few nice graphs and graphics though. I'm sure he'll show you them if you support the club enough.

Well said, thank god some on this forum actually understand the game.

Smart loan signing , lets hope some of the younger players can learn something from him, if he can find that Form again he had at Fulham will be a great and much needed addition to the midfield, guess this signals the end for Biss as well?

I don’t really know much about him so I’ll just reserve judgment until he’s here and I’ve seen him play. If he’s a player that TF is happy with then I trust that he has a plan for him and can use him well.

Palhinha is a consistent pain in the arse for any opponents he faces - replacing the inconsistent Bissouma will be a decent upgrade to out first team.

With Kudus that's 2 players brought in this summer to instantly improve the first team.

Plus others who will improve squad options
That’s the key thing for me as we’ve only ever seen the Brighton Bissouma in fits and starts.

I think he could surprise a few of the naysayers this season.

Just a wee comparison here. Claude Makalele was 30 years old when RM sold him to Chelsea. He then went on to make them an absolute beast defensively and didn't impact their ability to score goals and win games in any way. He was actually one of the main components that led to them winning the PL.

Whilst I do have some reservations about this, I can see the logic behind it. If he contributes to us conceding say 20-25 less goals each season, then he's a needle mover as much as getting a striker who'd contribute as many goals.

Food for thought?

That’s what i worry about on our big pitch. He’s quite upright and wooden in his movement and always looks like he’s stretching for tackles. In a compact Fulham side on a small pitch he sort of got away with it.
Our pitch is exactly the same size as 12 others in the league. And smaller than 2 more.

Granted, Fulham do have a tiny pitch, so he’ll do well in that match.
