I agree.

The standards are just so low now, and hes one of the players that hasn't been here as long as the others but at least he has popped up with the odd goal. You cant say the same about the likes of some others.

Our midfield approach has been utterly dire since Ange arrived. By now, almost no one knows how to actually play midfield at our club. Maddison knew once a long time ago, but has been so injured he may as well not exist at this point...

Not a RCB keep him at 6 where he has less space around him and can just patrol the edge of the box.

Bissouma is a fundamentally shit and unserious footballer that should not be starting for us. I get that he probably looks quite flashy in training so a new manager thinks let me give him a chance. The reality is we need mentally strong switched on fighters now more than we need someone that can do a few nice dribbles.

Palhinha has also been one of our bigger goalthreats this season.

He must start in midfield from here on out.

Turn the clock back to selling Dembele, our midfield hasn't been anywhere near the level since then.

Would happily keep him playing in his correct position with complimentary players around him. All this talk that he does nothing other than a couple of tackles is drivel. At the very least he's been doing the same stuff as all our other donkey midfielders have with the addition of actual tackling ability. And he seems to give a shit (whilst not being a complete headcase like Romero).

Definitely a good option to have in the squad even if he's not always in the starting eleven.

Postecoglou did some fucking random shit. Forcing out Eric Dier for Dragusin forcing out Hojbjerg whilst building around a less robust version of the same player in Bentancur. Its absolutely damming that Yeves Balloons Bissouma is STILL the closest thing in profile to a prototype 'modern' midfeild player all the other 6 /8 pretenders are defenders cos playing. We stay up im retaining only Sarr and Gallagher. Sarr im playing right back or wing back he is a straight line athlete who can swing in a decent deep cross ( copyright Bilboa). Gallagher Pochettino was able to optimise. Then its ALL about technically adept footballers. Start with Hackney because we will be wasting our time even bothering Wharton.

He's a terrible midfielder though. If he goes up against a team that will press the ball, he's a complete liability. Always passes back, so we can't get of our final third without a hoofball. Leaves huge gaps between him and his midfield partner too. He tackles so much because when he's in midfield, especially in a double pivot, he has to charge about to win possession back, a direct cause of having him in the side.

Only way to play him is at the base of a 3. He scores goals at set pieces because he's tall, but the goals are an anomaly. They were always going to dry up, it was just a little purple patch.

But that's not true. Tackles look flashy. Before statref went down, he's bottom like 5-10% for advancing the ball, passing forward. That's a liability.

Anyway, as stupid as they are, he won't be signed. There's a reason that Bayern couldn't get rid of him quick enough. Even in the best side, by a mile, in that division, they seen through it right away.

We cant progress the ball through the middle with any combination of our current midfielders anyway.

I would take the defensive steel and set piece threat ahead of whatever other limited qualities we get from the other "6's"

He is like, bottom of the top 5 leagues bad at progressing the ball. Nearly the bottom for touches on the ball, for carrying the ball, passing the ball. That's insane.

What defensive steel does he offer? He plays and we leak chances galore, same as when he doesn't. But when he plays in midfield we sacrifice attacking play, which we absolutely can't afford to do, given the lack of attacking quality we have. He's a black hole, Fulham got better with Berge, Bayern got rid of him as soon as they could.

You could play one of the CB's at #6 and they'd likely be better than this.

Hackney has been at the top of his game again, and will be in the prem next year regardless by the sounds of it. So if we go down, there goes that.

He's contributed more than Sarr or Bissouma have this season.
At least he's got some bollocks and is good in the air.

We need to go back to real basics here.

Bissouma was the best of a bad bunch in terms of midfielders Sunday, and if we want to stay up, he's the only one who can get out of trouble on the ball. Palinha hurts us when he plays midfield. Massive part of the reason we're in this mess is Frank's persistence with him every game.

His "bollocks" is him having to make up for what he's awful at, and slide tackles look great, so it makes him look 20x better than he is. Actually sit and watch him when he plays midfield. Not just the tackles. And again, if he was as great as people here think he is, why are we no better/worse at giving up chances when he plays? That's a paradox.
