Will be interesting to see how he is used.

It's a shame he cant play in the EL as that would have been the perfect place to introduce him.

Luckily for him CB is our least established position so there's every chance he gets PL minutes if he impresses in training.

So Tanganga and Dier injured. If neither get fit within next week that means Sanchez and Toby play both matches this week. Will Mourinho want them both to play a 3rd next weekend or would he be tempted to play Rodon? He would certainly get on the bench.

Is Dier actually injured or is this based on his "injury" midweek so he could skip the England game and (unfortunately) be ready to play for us tomorrow?

Initially felt quite sorry for Swansea only getting £11m plus add ons (so maybe £15m in total), which is probably only possible when a lot of clubs are skint, otherwise Swansea would have got a bigger fee (remembering Everton paid £25m for Ben Godfrey from Norwich earlier in this TW) .

But they have signed 30 year old Ryan Bennett from Wolves who played 90 games (PL/EL/Championship) for them including as a mainstay in their Championship winning side which got them to PL - on a free transfer. So a very decent experienced CB for the here and now. I wonder if Mendes influence at Wolves helped in that transfer.

They also signed England u20 CB Joel Latibeaudiere from ManCity (again on a free transfer), who I imagine is seen a 'one for the future' but who will probably start playing some games this season.

So whilst Swansea didn't get a big fee for Rodon, they've spent zero to replace him.

Probably both their incomings could only happen on free transfers this TW when all clubs are skint.

Its a funny old world - and no need to feel sorry for Swansea any longer !
