He’s an executive I’m sure his day is structured around activities that you know nothing about. I’m pretty sure we’re not paying him 6 figures or probably 7 to do fuck all. If we were we could give you his job.
So you don't know.

Which I think it part of the issue of why he is brought into conversations bearing in mind his job title.

Well given his previous experience at City group, and the probably very lucrative remuneration we give him, I’m pretty sure Levy isn’t paying him to sit on his backside trolling the internet all day.

He’s a football executive. He’s doing exactly what others in his position do at their clubs. Or do you have proof otherwise?

Lange is a slow, methodical builder.

In a crisis, that is frustrating but every transfer has been a hit (or inconclusive) so far. When our best players all arrived last summer, you know hes competent. If his second summer is like his first then we’ll have talent for a decade.

A Slow Methodical Builder : you say ?

And how exactly does that make him a good fit with the El Supremo aka
Danny 14 Managers ( plus interims ) Levy .

I get that Rome wasn’t built in a day ; and a long-term vision is what ultimately builds an empire ; but I just can’t see it working out ( beyond selling a few Academy players on for a few million and getting more than we paid for ; for Kulu say ) .

By all means; build slow and methodically ; but the real world seems to be moving more quickly and it could be out of sight soon.

I hear you.

I don’t think the real world is going to move so quickly that a team with players bordering on world class aged 22-25 won’t look great with the right manager in 2/3 years.

You have no idea what Levy is paying him for, which is evident in your answers , which is exactly my point.
No one has any idea what he does for a living, I am not saying he is not earning his living , we just don't know what his responsibilities are hence, the reason he becomes a figure to mock or question.

I find strange that you defend him without any idea what he does and if he is even doing a good job.

Brilliant. Villa sussed him..He's another Peter principle over promoted. He should be working under Paratici.

Villa's success recently is a lot to do with Lange's work for 2-3 years before. Martinez and Watkins plus the scouting network that they had used to be watching the likes of Rogers before signing him.

Lange is one of the things to be optimistic about. Even he was too slow and methodical in January, we still ended up with Kinsky, Danso and Tel.

He’s more of a sports executive , working with the Sydney Olympics 2000, Aussie Rugby before moving to the city group where he worked on sponsorship & building the women’s side of football .

His role at Spurs is/was to be in between Levy and a DoF and have a degree of say in things . This window has shown levy is still very much involved in that side so Munn probably looks at sponsorship etc

No matter how good / bad or tearful Lange might be.

It all ends up with Deadly Daniel around a negotiating table. That’s it. And that’s very much a problem.

You can have Ange, Lange, Flange and Scott’s Mumm but given Mr Buyrite is the ultimate decision maker the rest of them are essentially useless.

Levy has to go. Or nothing will change.

With Odobert now fit and having played a few games for both Spurs and French u21's, its probably fair to look at the incoming players in Summer and January Transfer windows :

Don Solanke - hardworking striker who excels at pressing. decent goal/assist record but just as importantly we play so much better when he plays.

Archie Gray - Very versatile and hard working player, ranks as one of our best/most important players this season. Only just 19 but could be here for a season

Lucas Bergvall - Maybe a slower start to get up to PL level than we'd have wished but very much a top candidate to start as CM now. Still just 19 and more development to come, but he's going to be an important player for us for a decade.

Wilson Odobert - Sadly injured at start of season, but his first couple of appearances for Spurs and France u21's v England u21's is showing that we have a two footed winger who can score and assist. Going to be a very important player for us going forward - and might be a slightly different but good replacement for Son as he winds down

Kevin Danso - Ticks most of the boxes to be an excellent CB, far better than I dared hope when he arrived in January. Far better than a 3rd choice CB we look good if he starts too. Excellent pick up with european experience.

Antonin Kinsky - A lot of posters fretting about a back up GK after Vicario was injured, which I think Kinsky has answered from his first game onwards. And with a couple of good appearances from Brandon Austin, despite his lack of game time over last 4 or 5 years, we've suddenly got a full complement of 3 decent GK's

So whilst posters can always follow Oliver Twist and say 'Please sir, I want some more' (players) we've actually brought in 6 very good quality players (25% of a 25 man squad) this year in positions we needed to fill who are going to be good for us over next few years. Sure there are still a few gaps in the squad, and players we need to move on, but far fewer than there were.

Something to feel positive about, and hope we can follow these up with some other good acquisitions this summer.
