It doesn't seem like time to criticize Lange at all. He hasn't been given the brief to go splash the cash in the market, it's not on him that that isn't happening.

If all the individual players get a caveat of "let's see how they do with Frank's coaching" surely that applies to judging Lange's squad building in general.

The thing I am impressed by this window is that Kudus and Palhinha represent two attributes the squad was totally lacking before, take-on dribbling in attack and a true destroyer back-four shielding midfielder, and it both cases they are well established as among the very best in PL at those particular things.

Two years ago the number one player in successful take-ons by a huge margin was Mohammed Kudus and the number one player in tackles by a huge margin was Joao Palhinha.

"Data driven" sometimes just means, "do the thing that's obvious" and I think we've done that.

Who knew that a business man with a terrible record with footballing appointments seemingly has made another shit appointment in Lange.
When villa fans were not exactly gutted he left the warning signs where there.
Until levy steps away from making such appointments then nothing is going to change

He was a massively underwhelming signing. Getting Brighton's or Liverpool's head scouts would have been a right coup. But no one is thinking 'where do Villa get such wonderful toys?'.

One issue for me with him, is how much charisma and personality he lacks.

And isn't a big part of his job to sell the project and club to prospective players?

He's as wet as a flannel.

I just get the impression he gets given the run around by other clubs and agents.

Seriously you buying this? I don't think he's across the details and I'll give you an example that should cost him his job alone. Kinsky 12 million euros, is crazy money when we could have recalled Keeley. Who I'll bet you goes on to have a better career. It's cost big money and potentially a class player. Shocking strategic mistakes

Can’t agree with you here.

The lack of agility and planning to react to whatever happened with MGW has been amateurish

Completely disagree. He should have lost his job after last seasons summer window. He is one, if not two steps behind the rest of the league and I get the impression he's the sort of bloke who phones a club in Europe and says Hi, its Johan Lange from Tottenham Hotspur and the person on the other end of the phone says Who!!
