EDIT - we paid the money to keep the likes of Kane, Eriksen, Lamela, Vertonghen, and Lloris at Spurs when we wanted to keep them did we not?
I wouldn't be bragging about bribing Lamela and Hugo with cash to stay at Spurs.

Both were bang average players.

Eriksen also ran his contract down, having been paid less than he was worth, and Levy was remunerated for Kane's wages with the 100 million ransom Bayern paid.

Mate, you keep changing the goal posts. We are back to square 1.

That's what arsneal did as well - it's a cycle almost every team goes through.

Build a squad, and pay good money to keep best players there - the longer players stay the more they earn - as older players leave, wages go down as you invest in younger players. Start to pay them more to keep them there.

Happened to Woolwich, happened to Chelsea, happening to Liverpool - why would it not happen to us?

Cos Gray would somehow be better if he earned another 200kpw. 💪

Dude, if youre not going to be real then don't bother.

Either we raised our wages to keep players at the club or not, I'm not interested in agenda-driven discussion - facts are facts....

The way people view money being spent by clubs is so fairweather -

We spend too much - it's wrong, we spend too little it's wrong, we raise players wages to stay at the club person X doesnt like - its wrong - we sell players at their prime, its wrong, we keep players too long its wrong.

What the fuck are people actually doing.

I hear fans from every single club complain like this - they are NEVER happy - even winning something the happiness lasts for a week before they start complaining again.

If that's how some folks get their kicks out of this then fair do's - but I don't have to pander to it. It's not my job to nod and agree and reinforce their obsessions

I know the ENIC subterfuge is crumbling, and that is distressing to some on here, but;

Eriksen was underpaid; Hugo, Lamela and Dele were overpayed.

That is my honest opinion.

Levy also recovered most of what he paid in wages to Kane through his sale.

Sorry if the truth hurts.

It's a bad time.

That says more about the state of this team than it does about Lamela's ability.
A little bit of column A and a little bit of column B.

He gave a shit and for that alone I loved him. You'd never see a cowardly performance dialled in like we've seen from our lot recently in an NLD or against the Chavs and that for me made him worth his money.

It also speaks to where we find ourselves as a club that since we've moved on as a club to supposed bigger things with the new stadium that nobody who has meant to have replaced him has been anywhere near as good as him.

I never rated Lamela.

Kicking people and acts of spite were not what Spurs paid the money for.

I have no sentiment for his memory.

I just remember him being bang average at best.

Literally just like the clown-show above.... It's a 'sin' to let Eriksen leave for free; yet it's also a 'sin' to get a fee for Kane.... Both things in the same fkn sentence. :wall:

WTF is this suit doing ?

Is he away on holiday or on a speed awareness course or something similar that lasts a whole month ?

I know Big Steve Hitchen hated January, but this know nothing waste of space must really hate January.

Hates it as much as Reg’s lot hates the Romans ( Life of Brian kids )

He didn’t achieve a great deal apart from walking on Fabregas at Stamford bridge.
But you do need a bit of spite in a good football team. We never touched the Newcastle midfield , Bournemouth kicked them all over the place, especially Bruno.
Which team has committed the most fouls this season, Bournemouth of course.
Argentina won the World Cup with Messi and a few good players. But everyone of those players is a nasty niggling twat who will do anything to upset the other team . It is a national characteristic .
We are far too nice, even Romero isn’t the nutcase he was.

Skipp's main attribute was aggression.

He had it in bucketloads.

A different manager would have kept him for that alone.
