I miss Steve hitchen
I hope this is sarcasm, lol. There was a time when Hitchen was robbing a living more than even Ndombele did. Some of our worst signings in recent memory that financially hobbled us to an extent came when that guy and Levy were in each other’s pocket.

Anyway…

What others are saying here about Lange. I don’t know. The jury is out on him still.

From what can be gathered it wasn’t his idea to get Tel. Good. I’m sick of this club buying more wingers and attackers when what we really need are defenders and central midfielders. Rather a quiet window than more little twats that play on the wing and rarely show anything for what we pay.

Tel is obviously immensely talented but would he improve the starting XI? If no, we shouldn’t be spending 50 mil on someone. We’re just not in that position to do that after so many years of bad deals.

Hes signed our best performers this season. Hes only been here 18 months. Did you expect the galacticos already?
Galacticos, of course not, bloody impossible under Levy, but I expected (correct that, hoped) a lot more to have been done in this bloody window.
As I said, I'd just love to see what the guy actually does, because I don't see much pre-planning based on the inaction in January where some bodies, even a few clever loans, were badly needed.

Lange is a slow, methodical builder.

In a crisis, that is frustrating but every transfer has been a hit (or inconclusive) so far. When our best players all arrived last summer, you know hes competent. If his second summer is like his first then we’ll have talent for a decade.

I don’t see any evidence he has any clue how to build a well balanced team and squad. It’s all very well having a data model that spits out players who do certain things well. But knowing how to connect all the parts together is how you build a team.

He’s been here 18 months. How many DoFs build a balanced squad in 18 months?

Get real.

His signings have been very well aligned to how we want to play. Solanke is a great example of that.

He hasn't finished building though. He can only go as fast as the owners allow him to with the budget they allocate.

Loves a hijack Lange
