Management Johan Lange - Technical Director

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

TBF; each one conspired to deliver some pretty catastrophic European runs/exits:

- Nuno.... Basically got us knocked out of the Conference League in the group stages (allowing a covid formality to be the death blow).
- Conte utterly embarrassed us with his cowardice and simpering towards a deeply average AC Milan.
- Jose lost 3-0 to a man in prison.

.............All of which with peak Son & Kane at their disposal.
The stars aligned with the no ECL drop outs and if we could have hand picked the knock our oponents only Frankfurt ( who lose their best player in the window) might have given us pause. As Napoleon said give me lucky generals you have to give Ange this if nothing else.

Because I think people shouldn’t throw their colleagues under the bus for failed plans they made together.

Tbh it’s looking more and more likely that this summer proves that Lange is a bit of a fraud
He’s been very good so far. Better than Paratici.

People are so driven by personality. Italian in a suit on the phone like a mafioso and everyone loves them. Quiet, nerdier gut who goes about his business in an unfussy way and he gets stick.

Another scapegoat being lined up , good or bad they all end up under the bus

He’s so good.

Reorganised the club to prioritise coaching and found truly elite young talent. There’s a plan here and reason for optimism for the first time in many years.

I posted a while ago that I'm very happy with the recruitment we'd done, because it was all about building for sustainability.

We started by bringing in young, hungry talent, which we now appear to have in reasonable abundance.

Now it looks like we're augmenting that with established players who are still relatively young and hungry.

The squad building is now really starting to take shape. Whilst many were screaming for the now, it was evident that the plan is long term.

To date, Lange has done an excellent job IMO. Short term.pain for long term gain.

I get why Ange paid the price for the policy of recruiting teenagers for depth in a European season because the plan was to build a squad for 5 years.

What I don't get is why Lange and Levy survived it.

Any other time Levy would have thrown the DOF under the bus as well but he didn't this time and his first 2 signings after Ange have been kids as well.
Beyond just the wins and losses, I believe Ange lost his job because the team didn't look prepared to play from week to week and kept making the same mistakes. They certainly did better in the Europa League matches, which belies that, but even with the cup win I didn't see anything that suggested a turnaround this season under Postecoglou.
