Honestly, when I look at that list, it’s not that bad. I think it’s a little early to have Tel and Odobert locked in as 5’s and I’m still hopeful that Gray comes around. I know, it’s hard to know, and definitely debatable.

But the only true bust so far is Werner, and that was just an ill-advised loan. If it was his decision to go after MGW, Eze and Savinho I can’t fault him there. If we got 2/3 of those three it would’ve been immense.

But instead we got none of the 3 because these are big players and he hasnt a clue how to get them. Just like levy
 
Levy retains ultimate control and the levels of flexibility a guy like Lange has are limited. I think Levy stopped trusting these guys too much after the debacle of Baldini buying us a load of guff. Levy ultimately wants to involved in the process start to finish and only wants Lange and his likes to be supplemental aides.

The issue with Tel / Oberbert and Gray is that they are u23 players who are being sold to us as first team squad members. No other club ( of significant status ) would be going into games in 24/25 or indeed 25/26 with these three being marketed as legitimate premier league first team players.

The very real danger with this lie that’s ongoing about youth is that young players are pretty much always inconsistent or prone to injury, so they have a potential to be out of the first team picture for a while each season. So you would then use your u23 team as back up. Except anyone who is half decent in our u23 set up is out on loan, so the drop off is too big. And potentially your squad is so thin you end up 17th

Thankfully though Lange etc are not daft and will mitigate this risk. :goonermong:

Vuskovic was signed during the Paratici + Gabiadini time. He hasnt played so can't really judge but does look good on paper.
