for that butterfly

Should be sacked for that quote alone.

I asked ChatGPT about Summer priorities. This is what they suggested:

1. Creative Midfielder / Playmaker

A true creator would help solve Spurs’ lack of consistent goal-creating spark:
Elliot Anderson (Nottingham Forest) – emerging English midfielder with attacking creativity — Spurs should pursue if available.

2. Defensive Midfielder / Midfield Anchor

A strong No.6 helps protect the backline and improves control in the center of the pitch:
Amadou Onana (Everton) – has Premier League experience, athletic and strong defensively.
Ruben Neves (Free agent in summer) – experienced midfielder who can contribute passes & leadership.

3. Wingers / Wide Attackers

Given injuries and the sale of Brennan Johnson, Spurs need reliable wide attacking options:
Yan Diomande (RB Leipzig) – quick, young winger Spurs have been linked with; high ceiling.
Savinho (Manchester City) – talented wide attacker linked before; could add flair and goals.
Serge Gnabry (Free agent) – experienced, goal-threat winger available on a free.

4. Striker / Secondary Goal Scorer

Competition for Dominic Solanke and back-up firepower. Solanke is valuable but Spurs need another reliable forward — both to rest him and to score consistently:
Dusan Vlahovic (Free agent) – proven goalscorer available on a free and would be a big upgrade.

5. Defensive Reinforcement

Depth at full-back helps in a long season with multiple competitions. Depending on departures, Spurs could look at:
Max Aarons (Right back) – attacking full-back to improve width and defensive balance.
😂😂😂😂😂max aarons

I dont think its a binary

Data can absolutely help find targets, people with certain attributes, whom you might not have spotted otherwise

But, its not the only criteria to buying someone, and cant be

Once you have identified likely targets you then need to look at the intangibles more, like character etc
Lazy scouting is the problem. Data tells me nothing. I can see when a player passes forward. I can see when it’s not on to pass forward and have to keep the ball. Data will tell you that player is only 50% of the time passing the ball forward. It doesn’t tell you that 50% of the time he shouldn’t try pass it forward.
I hate it and have no time for any of it. Signing players because of false data is pathetic. Not for me and shouldn’t be for a club who need to sign very good footballers.

Data can tell you a lot of things, but it needs to be used in context

It can tell you a player makes lots of blocks/tackles, for example, but you need to contextualise it by the sort of team he plays in to understand how that plays into this as well, for example.

And this is the point - Data is a hugely valuable resource, if used correctly. In tandem with proper scouting, watching players, understanding who a player is etc

Too many people see Data as an absolute, its not, its justa piece of information, can be used in both good or bad ways

It definitely has its place but yeh it needs context. Forward progressive pass percentage could be 100% but where are those passes going to and what’s the outcome? There’s never a substitute for watching and assessing players with the eye and that’s what the best scouts will always do.

You know we still do in person scouting right?

The whole club had no charisma and is dull just now.
Even on the pitch we are dull. The players that do have a bit of charisma or personality get vilified. Maddison,Xavi and Romero are 3 players that have had stick but they have more about them than most and give a fuck. They might not play well every game but just by watching them they have that big game personality. I’ll add Micky into that too and maybe Paulinha but out of a squad of 25/30 players thats poor.
And that's what worries me with lange and frank. We're not a small provincial team like brondby. We're a big club. Tbh I think there will be massive changes in the summer.

Oi , Cunto , explain this

——————————
He explained that they entered the window with a plan for signings, but having seven players injured in January meant that their planning and activity was affected and that this situation changed things over the course of the window.

——————————-
So we had a plan then lost players through injury which changed the plan to getting no one in !?!?

No.

It was an 8 minute video lads. Not a 3 hour epic

My favourite section of that video was when Air Force One landed on High Road and Lange got caught up in a complicated plot involving terrorists trying to hijack the plane and cause worldwide choas.

Of course the more thrilling part was when Lange jumped in front of a bullet for the president and the slug got embedded in the lego he keeps in his breast pocket as a proud Dane, then dropkicked the terrorist off the skywalk, saying "that's another outgoing transfer in the January window".

Can't believe he saved Trump. FFS he's such an embarrassment to the club

If Lange really did say that;

“If you stick your hand out of the window for long enough, a beautiful butterfly will eventually land on it.”

I didn't watch his whole 'interview' so don't know but if that's his analogy for finding suitable players he needs to be sacked, we don't want the DOF sitting with his hand out the window hoping for a butterfly to land, we want him gayfully searching the meadows skipping from shrub to shrub wielding his butterfly net.
