More than that, Keane and Defoe would be minimum £50m each, and Palacios's modern day equivalent would probably be Baleba at peak value so he'd be pushing £100m on his own.Still don't understand that January window, why would you dare risk relegation?
A club of this size just buys it's way out of it. And you worry about the squad or lack of summer transfer budget at the end of the season but at least you're in the league.
The last time we looked like we had a real chance of relegation we just splurged on Defoe, Keane, palacious, and chimbonda
Like the equivalent of spending 100 million today

Yeah if Freedman comes in then Lange is either sacked or making his tea, although i suspect he'd fuck that up somehow.A good appointment so one we probably won’t end up doing and we’ll get the bloke from Chelsea their fans are desperate to be rid of. Whatever the worst choice is will be the one we make. We can be certain of that.
There’s no way Freedman would be coming in other than to head everything up either.
A blind person would be miles clear of LangeDid well with Palace so let’s see. Would be miles clear of Lange.

One thing I'll say about this, and it's in no way a defence of this absolute cabbage. It's everything.
Who would sell Son when you know Madders and Kulu are injured. I can't remember the timings on the Solanke injury but I think he was out for the start of the season as well.
Between Madders, Kulu, Son and Solanke we were missing something like 75% of our goals and assists from the season prior. I can't remember the exact stat.
And then we sold BJ in Jan who scored a fair few including the winnner in the EL. I can remember certain individuals on here telling me it was good business selling him for the money we got. But the key point is we didn't replace the goals.
We brought in Kudus and Simmons to make up for all of those lost G&A's.
Its so badly run, The football side of this club is run like a tuck shop at a Primary school.
I'm just a fan but this was all painfully obvious to me back in the summer and then my fears confirmed at the end of the January window, and plenty of us on here can see it. So why can't the people in charge see the bloody obvious?
We have nobody at this club that has a fucking clue about football.
Coming to Spurs seems to take players down a level or two from their previous club performances. Leaving Spurs, players seem to perform better. Many players that left Spurs have picked up trophies and have been playing really well. Players that didn't always get injured come to Spurs and are always injured. Players with injury records leave Spurs and are miraculously healed e.g. Sessegnon (he plays against us more than he played for us!)One thing I'll say about this, and it's in no way a defence of this absolute cabbage.
You don't lose those players and then simply play with 7 men, you simply don't expect that the players taking those places from them are going to provide absolutely f-all. Like you don't sign a previously £80m striker, who's scored goals in Germany, scored goals in France, scored goals in Germany, scored goals for France, and expect him to contribute a solitary league goal.
You don't sign a £60m+ attacking midfielder with Barca/PSG heritage from his youth, who's been putting up consistently good g/a numbers in Germany, a guy who seemingly had a tunnel vision view of his career, who was destined for one of the "big boys", who had an arrogance that many thought would see him turn his nose up at signing for Spurs, and expect to get an absolute wet-wipe who has no fight in him, would get blown over by a mild breeze, and looks like he's going to cry most of the time.
Of all the potential ways the last summer TW could have turned out, we're living in the absolute worst possible timeline.
Despite that, hos overall squad building has been a joke, and January was an absolute shambles of the highest order.
That I somewhat welcome relegation as bringing a needed cleanse of the club, to cast off the overpaid wasters we've amassed, is a damning indictment of his tenure at this club. (And Paratici to some degree, he only saves some face by virtue of not being his predecessor Hitchen, or his successor Lange, who both were somehow even worse).
There's some truth to this yeah.Coming to Spurs seems to take players down a level or two from their previous club performances. Leaving Spurs, players seem to perform better. Many players that left Spurs have picked up trophies and have been playing really well. Players that didn't always get injured come to Spurs and are always injured. There's just something rotten to the core at our club.
He certainly knows the championship, maybe next manager![]()
