Manager Jose Mourinho

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I think AVB affected me more because I was in the stadium watching the disaster unfold. Few of the night game in the EL were so boring I was looking up at the stars for around 10-15 mins then looked around and noticed other blokes doing the same.

When he got sacked it was one of the best days of life as a Spurs fan. It’s why I was quite tolerant of Sherwood for a while as the football was a lot more fun.

I think when Jose goes I will be quite happy.

I was harping on about it the other day but I think you're not alone in regards to being happy when Jose leaves.

I think if things stay as they are and Jose is off, it will never be a better time for a young manager to come in and start a project. Lord knows we have a lot of dead wood to clear out. Fans will be so happy to see the back of Jose that whomever comes in next will have a lot of leeway.

4D chess move from Levy perhaps?

What is this flowing and attacking football that everyone is dreaming of? Under Poch it was a similar story. A few stand out performances in the season...and a whole lot of boring drawn out narrow victories.

Harry - 'Pass it to Bale'
AVB - Played a high line, but didn't press. Introduced the 4-2-3-1 which has remained at Spurs.
Sherwood - Back to 4-4-2. Kick, run, attack.
Poch - Take it slow. Lots of possession. No risks. The chance will come.
Mourinho - Don't make mistakes. Draw the other team out and wait for them to stuff up and then pounce.

So, I think the manager you all crave is Sherwood...........

That is all true, but that doesn't deny the fact that the product shifted and Poch was the manager at the time and was losing all control of the "project". No one should deny the ineptitude of the board over that stretch, but Poch still had responsibility on his hands.
Then he signed a contract to double his wages and accepted the transfer window with no transfers. Definitely not very painful rebuilding going on there.

I disagree. I like his style don't get me wrong, but I think he is a bit of an egomaniac.

I know managers these days are not typically sticking around for much longer than a couple of seasons to 5 in a cycle, but Tuchel has a poor track record of staying on board for much longer than 18 months. Funny enough he signed an initial 18-month contract with the option for another year at Chelsea.

...on the hands that were tied behind his back? To apportion blame without considering context is disingenuous and simple minded though. Yes, it is true that he was the manager so ultimately he takes the blame but yes, it is also true that the team was under-funded and devoid of proper reinforcement for some time. And it is also true that the players that so many think are 'world class' are viewed beyond their actual ability. It's only taken most on this board 3+ seasons to actually begin to see it...and most are still not there because as we know Dele will come good soon and Harry must never be dropped until he is 53 and decides for himself.

JoseIN for me till the pain makes you and everyone else recognize the reality.

Clearly Jose doesn't want to give anything away and is saving our best performance for the Cup Final.

City won't expect us to press the ball and play attacking football. We'll take them by surprise!

You have a short memory. We played the best football in the league for a couple of years. We had a goal difference of + 60 in the year Chelsea won the league and you don’t get that by having “a few stand out performances and a whole lot of boring drawn out narrow victories” as you put it.

Poch benefitted from good timing. City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Woolwich and United all going though major rebuilds with changes in coach and entire squads. Had that same team been playing against today's league; we'd be in precisely the same position.

Liverpool are poor this season
Chelsea were struggling half this season
Woolwich are poor this season
Man Utd are ok, but I feel they’re second only because the other teams are struggling too

The only legit class team is City.

Kinda describes Mourinho aswell.

What crap. Had Mourinho been up to the job he could have taken advantage of some good timing this season couldn’t he since Liverpool and Chelsea have been relatively poor. How you can say Pochettino’s football was slow and no risk is beyond me. We were so exciting to watch for at least 2 of his years.

It is when it comes to spurs

These players don't have the stomach for the biggest matches

Been proven time and time again

And nothing that I have seen from Mourinho gives me even the tiniest bit of faith that he is resolving that

We are massive underdogs in that final. Even if I don't think we can believe, football is a weird game and over 90 minutes you'll never know.

Thats it Handballs, VAR, sending offs.

Or hopefully city are in the CL semi finals and their minds will be partly on that. Human nature. That cup is massive for City. So fingers crossed.

It’s the hope that kills you!!!

3 years of the TFC members assuring us its the manager, not the players. The talents there, we just need the right person to unlock it. Oh the joy!
