Manager Jose Mourinho

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

This has to be Mourinho's last chance saloon. His ego is challenged and having failed at Tottenham he has accepted the almost impossible job of breathing life back into the sleeping giant that is Roma.
His task is daunting to say the least but the rewards for success would be immense. His reputation would be restored as one of the still great managers and the Italian supporters would build a statue in his honour.

He is chasing the ultimate prize and associated fame but the cost of failure would be equally as damaging to his now fading career.

Glad to see the back of him.
I’m amazed he got this job as I thought that we were his last chance saloon!

Fully expected him to take a year off doing punditry then come back as an International manager
Shows how much I know
And I’ve voted for Scotty provided we get an experienced DOF

Hope things have worked out ok

We offered a settlement of 8 million when we sacked him apparently. We were always going to have to pay him something so making up the balance of his Roma salary for a year sounds about right. Far better than psying the remaining two years salary, 30 million, that the likes of Ornstein insisted we'd have to pay.

I thought his insta posts came off a bit desperate, sort of trying to convince people he's still relevant.

Only just seen about Roma, bit of a shocker.

If that's true about us paying half his wages it's still half what he could have got from us so... Well, dunno but that's the figures I've seen but does anyone really know?

I think what’s written on here might eventually effect your thinking. It sometimes does with me. And as 95% of posts in this thread are negative, it makes sense that this may be the prevailing feeling everywhere.

I’m pretty sure he is still well respected and highly regarded within the game. We are his only failure in over two decades, so makes sense someone else would give him a try.

Fair point and I was affected by all the negativity when he first arrived defending him and some idiots on here calling me a Mourinista as a result

At inter he had Walter Samuel who was a very smart player but also looked like a cartel hitman, a perfect centre back. Also lucio who was also smart and rapid, he could run so fast for a centre back. both physical freaks. He never recovered from that.
He treats all defenders by that standard which is insane. He has Fazio, Smalling and some younger players there to abuse, they'll shit the bed every match
