Manager Jose Mourinho

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I don’t blame Jose for that though. That was on Levy and the club, we didn’t have to hire him. When you hire a win it now manager who needs elite players and plays boring football you have 1-2 years to make it work.

As with Conte I thought the club either spends £500/600m on players the manager wants to win the title or the whole thing goes tits up pretty quickly. It never fit our financial model nor did it fit Spurs fan expectation of attacking football.

It might be thought that the decision was so stupid that the lessons learned got us to this far better place with a proper football structure of Munn, Lange, Paratici and an attacking coach. Without Jose, Nuno and Conte we might never have gotten to Ange and better recruitment.

I said similar the other week. No Conte, no big Ange.

The day we appointed him was one of the most depressing in all my time supporting us. It was obvious then he was a busted flush and that it would be shit football with no team building for 18 months to 2 years. You sort of hope you're going to be wrong but it became obvious pretty quickly it would play out exactly as a lot of us thought.
Same here mate.

Honestly, my heart sank when we appointed him, I couldn't fathom what the fuck we were doing. I hated everything about him and everything that came with him, from his own cultish fans to a fawning world media attention, to his utterly shite football. He set this Club back 5yrs.

I truly hope we learned our lesson. At some point in the future Ange will leave us (sacked or poached, this is the nature of management) but if we replace him with a reactive coach I'm done.

I thought we were a tad unlucky with Conte. In the backend of his first season (post Burnley meltdown) we were bloody good and the football was good too. His 2nd season was beset with so much baggage in his personal life that I'm convinced was a major factor in us not improving. It was however not the sole reason, Conte simply lost the plot. Delighted when he left, but because he left under such a shitshow what's still forgotten is he has our 2nd highest points per game average in the PL (just behind Poch).

However it's assessed there is no mistaking that the way we play determines how we enjoy following our team and Poch and Ange easily are the types of football we want to see played at Spurs. (To some extend too Redknapp's period is largely liked by the majority of fans, I'm more split on him as we were for a period shit under him too).

You would have hoped by now Levy and the board have learned their lesson. The Levy out chants last season that rang across a lot of the stadium all go back to the Jose/Nuno/Conte period of going against our identity and history.

Look at the club under Jol, Redknapp and Poch, it was mostly happy. Look at the club under AVB, Jose, Nuno, George Graham. Everytime we hire someone who doesn’t fit the club seems to fall apart.

Last summer I was more happy, we got linked with Naglesmann, Slot, Kompany and Ange. It was clear we were going to hire an attacking coach. I hope the structure we have now with Munn as CFO is deeper and less fickle than previous so we don’t end up reverting again.

Im not a mourinho fanboy, however I do like his character, i think football needs a Mourinho. under the right circumstances with the right clubs he is a great manager. He’s proven that. And i honestly feel he has had a lot of bad luck in his recent career.. he has taken on big challenges with clubs who are in a crisis and it hasnt worked out. Spurs for instance were reeling from an end of era Pochettino team and was always going to be a huge challenge . Man Utd were and still struggling to find their identity and yet Man utd had their best spell since SAF under him. He should have been given more time. He did get Spurs to a cup final he didnt get to play in. Roma have never been a dominant club and have money issues and yet have won a trophy with him after 14 years, 2 back to back european finals and they arent miles away from top 4. The clubs hes gone too recently needed tearing up in their own right and he is an extreme character and you have to trust the process. But he doesnt get given the time because everyone expects instant success. His football was still mildly better than Contes, and he atleast respected the club whilst he was here unlike conte.

But the game hasnt changed. Its still the same rules. Lets not act like if he walked into Man city, Barcelona or Juventus he wouldnt dominate the leagues. Money talks at the end of the day. Like pep, like conte, hes a big money manager.

Yeah it’s fucking bizarre.

On a different note, Simon Jordan is championing him for the England job! 😂 imagine going from Southgate to Mourinho. The FA would never go for it thankfully however much I don’t rate Southgate.
He is actually made for that job in all honesty. Has the know how to win cups and the world class players in a team usually do well under mourinho.

Kane and Son were devastating when he was manager, it was the defence that kept letting us down.

A team full of world class players like England have would be perfect for Mourinho to guide to a cup

While enjoying slapping some Mourinho'istas this mourning I just wanted to get a couple of facts sorted out regarding his salary, I knew it was high but the merry-go-round of managers changes the standings from time to time. Anyway, whilst googling this what made my jaw drop was seeing Gerrad listed as the 4th highest-paid manager on the planet!!!! (just €400k less than Klopp, €4m less than Guardiola - he's won 7 games!!)

As in Steven "Gerrad"?

Everything happens for a reason.

Huge problem for me is being forced into supporting, and cheering - perhaps even singing.. for Jose Mourinho.

Disturbing times.
That's how I felt when we appointed the horrible dirge.
Going from Poch to that toe rag shattered my emotional investment in Spurs. It's been a long path recovering for me personally but am once again in a good space now with Ange.

I wouldn't wish this fucker on anyone.. (except Woolwich, Chelsea, Newcastle, West Ham)

I pray he goes to Chelsea.

I’d even take Newcastle, whoever. I just want to see his stupid fucking face when he gets absolutely torn apart by Ange ball.
