Ange:
"From the other night, everyone is ok. Timo is available.”

🗣️”Ben Davies got through fine. Ash Phillips is a bit sore so we'll have to see whether he can play. Radu has joined us now and he's been training.”

"Destiny will train today but obviously he won't play tomorrow. Richy is still a few days away."

And a few days + 1 day away from his next injury.

Also have Bayern in Seoul on Saturday, so Ange is going to have to use the squad wisely

I suspect a number of the starters will play 60+ minutes to get them up to speed with 90 minute matches, but Dragusin in his first match back might be 45 mins. I can't see the likes of Son being risked with more than 60 mins as he will be played v Bayern too - really like to see if Lankshear is trusted with 45/60 mins with Scarlett and/or Veliz taking up the rest as Lankshear sems the most in form of the trio despite being he youngest

Fitness curve must surely be the prime holistic focus across all these pre-season fixtures. Absolutely senseless stretching things in the name of PR or chasing inconsequential scorelines.

Agree.

Equally many players starting preseason late due to euros/coppa and so its sensible to build up fitness 'slowly' by not playing 90 mins too early and risk them picking up injury.

I suspect that Dragusin, Romero, Van de Venn, Bentancur and Richarlison will not be fully fit by first game of season as their pre-season has been too short. Wouldn't be surprised to see all of them playing 60 mins or less v Leicester on 19 august.

Can I be the first to say.....

MUST WIN.

Anything but a resounding victory and we need to get ANGE OUT.

If any of these kids don't put in a 10/10 performance, we need to sell them immediately and lambast Levy for not showing ambition by singing Mbappe.

Apparently Donley has been training at left back all the time. He definitely has the skill set to play as inverted full back. I guess it would take a while to learn defensively.

Viewing options look like SpursPlay and...
well it popped up briefly on Apple TV+ but seems to have disappeared again...

I'm not expert on how quickly players lose their match fitness, but will those Euro and Copa players really have lost that much match fitness? They've just been out with their national teams playing and training, and they've had what, 2-3 weeks off?

Granted they've not done any training in that time, but will they really be that far behind the rest of the squad who didn't go to these tournaments?

Richarlison seems to spend 50% of the time out with a minor knock or strain
