I still think a major part of it is the style of play x the number of fixtures

We've played 44 this season - as a comparison, Bournemouth have played 32

It's why I'm really not convinced on Iraola as a management option for us

We’d hardly played much last season when the muscle injuries started though.

Style of play along with what I mentioned will contribute for sure. I think it probably puts doubt in the players’ minds at this point if they think they’re going to potentially get injured every time they step on the pitch. It’s probably why we don’t really see the older players properly going for it while the less experienced ones don’t think it will happen to them.

apparent hamstring injury....the 10th fucking player to have suffered from this injury so far this season.

Also if you remember, it looked like he did the hamstring injury near the end of the AZ game. Im pretty sure that it will come out that this is the case and Ange just decided to start him vs Bournemouth.

Oh another centre back injured well i never. If only there were some way in knowing why this keeps happening.
"Watson....I'm close to forming a theory. Hand me my pipe and an ounce of shag tobacco!!"

seems unlikely that the medical team would allow or danso himself would play if he had a hamstring injury
Ange has absolutely no problems starting archie gray as cb

This a joke?
cool lets look at the evidence.

Medical team advised Ange to play VDV 60 minutes in a game and he played him 80 minutes.

Medical team advised Ange that Sarr was not fit enough to be involved vs Leicester and he started him.

Hell even against Bournemouth Ange admitted that Romero was meant to only play 45 minutes. These are the ones we know about.

Lets see about Danso. I definitely remember him holding his hamstring near the end of the AZ game.

staying on longer than you should when youve been medically cleared to start is one thing, starting when youre injured is another.

speculation and personal bias, no fact I'm afraid

I just gave an example of this as well yet you completely ignored it. Seems like it's not me with the '"bias".

Just in case you missed it i will repeat, Ange admitted Sarr should not have played in the Leicester game yet he started. What now?

It was Kevin Danso’s first season with Ange so in fairness to what we know he was 100% due to get a hamstring injury.

The Celtic fans made that crystal clear it’s a key part of Angeball back when he joined.

The stats are out there. We sprint more than any other team in and out of possession. It’s just a cause and effect scenario.

Sure Archie G can step up to the plate if needed.

No concerns. Nothing to see here.

for Celtic players to get hammies in the SPL when they have 95% possession against the likes of Arbroath - the warning signs were there for anyone who knew anything about fitba'

The irony here is that just the other day Ange was saying we hadn’t been able to train properly for some time due to our hectic schedule. So Danso had an easy couple of months to start with.

But recently Ange said it was good to be able to do some high intensity training as Romero and VDV come back to fitness.

Et voila!! Danso gets fucked.

Like clockwork isn’t it!!

:ange-facepalm2:

For a team who supposedly sprints in an out of possession we always look sluggish and lethargic……
Ange has said that "we train as we play". So I assume that a lot of our training is done at a high tempo/intense pace to "simulate" the way that we are meant to play.

The crux of course is that the players barely get time to rest and recover so by the time that the games roll around they are already ragged.

To be able to play at a consistent high pace and high intensity throughout a season you need top of the line dedicated fitness coaches and physios that can set individual fitness programs tailor made for each player to insure that they run as little risk as possible of picking up a injury.

Atletico Madrid is a prime example of this, despite playing a generally defensive style of football they run a lot and play intense football. And that is sustainable because their former fitness coach, Óscar Ortega, is heralded as one of the best in the industry.

We could have had this with Ventrone under Conte (and we did look very fit under him), but cancer of course took him too soon.

It feels like Ange believes in outrunning and outworking our opponents, but like with tactics, he doesn't have the methodology to practically implement his theory.

Also Ange Postecoglou apathy toward game management, to wasting time, to constantly returning the ball into play...means unlike some great attacking teams ( PSG last night against Liverpool did this and used it to play attacking football) we don't get to rest in game. This ethos is killing us, been saying it for a year. WE DON'T STOP. Means we'll never win anything or have a healthy squad.

i repeat again...what about the Sarr situation?

don't start debates and then run away when youre proven wrong. At least have the decency to respond back and admit you got something wrong.....especially if you're the one initiating the discussion in the first place.

yawn, cause I'm tired of this boring discussion.

as i said a bunch of speculation on your part, because sarr was cleared fit after injury but turns out he wasn't fully recovered mid game and brought off, it must mean Danso actually did his hammy, wasn't made public but was pushed to play again against Bournemouth despite vdv, Romero and Gray being available to play in a dead rubber.
he was on crutches and ange kicked them away and told him to get out there right now lest he feel the back of his hand

very good you win:ledley:
