ah well there ya go then. you want a soft little non contact game where players cant even barge each other fairly. of course youd think it was a stone wall pen then.
No, I want a game where contact that is obviously required for the game to work - players coming together when chasing for a ball for example - is allowed, but players deliberately just using their muscle to shove others off their runs is not allowed (in keeping with law 12). It's supposed to be football, not rugby - there is no footballing skill in what that defender did yesterday, it's just cheating and thuggery, and I'm amazed that anyone other than a total neanderthal could see it any differently.

But hey, we're all entitled to our opinions - pretty much everyone on here thinks that was a stonewall penalty, and you don't. Fine, enjoy your contrarian moment.

cheating and thuggery looool. what hes done is actually safer than them both getting to the ball while its crossing the line and potentially both being injured.

youve just said you think van dijks is also a foul. maybe you should watch womens football, be more your cuppa tea.

And if you can't see the difference between the Van Dijk one and the Danso one, and hence are incapable of understanding the subtle nuances of shoulder charges, maybe you should give up on football and watch rugby. Who knows, maybe you'll find a team you actually support! :)

it looks worse than it is because danso doesnt brace for a shoulder to shoulder, if danso braced for it no one would say anything and they would of bounced off each other. it is a bit of a strange one because it will split opinions. the games been softened up enough as it is, if you start giving fouls for players going shoulder to shoulder then the games been well and truly pussified. shoulder to shoulder is legal, you cant expect defenders to allow people to run onto balls without trying to muscle them out of it.
It’s obstruction though. Very clearly

It's not about excessive force, it's the fact that he's not running towards the ball, he has no interest in the ball, he's running towards the player with the sole intention of taking him out. There is a world of difference between two players running after a ball both leaning in with their shoulders to gain an advantage, and a player running at not far off 90 degrees to the direction of the ball and opponent just to smash an opponent off his stride towards the ball. Absolutely stonewall penalty, should have been given, and would not have had the slightest impact on subsequent 'normal' shoulder challenges - it was nothing like them.
I can tell you’ve actually read the laws of the game, unlike most who post on them !

The unbiased Match of the Day , in their highlights did not even show the foul on Danso. The non penalty in the Everton United game was shown and discussed .The non penalty that Villa should have had was shown but not discussed. Toss pots"

We still desperately need a left footed CB that can also play LB. We have needed one for what seems like an eternity now.

Someone that can rotate with Van De Ven but also slot in for Udogie as well.

A younger, better version of Ben Davies in essence.

Loan out Vuskovic to a Championsip Club and see how he does. Really don’t think Phillips and Dorrington will cut it at a serious level.
Dragusin may not be back until the start of 2026 (and he’s pretty crap) so hard to really count on him next season.

Cirkin?
HG, CT and fairly youngish

I love Danso! Just came in and done a job. Very old school in the sense of him being very very physical!

Would love to see him next to an actual CB
He was always an absolute beast of a man, wasn't worried how he'd adapt to the famous physicality of the PL.

What's impressed me most is his reading of the game and the nutsack on the lad, how daring he is with the ball...easy enough in la Ligue 1, but the PL is 3 levels above and so far he's doing ace.

Keep it up, big Kev.

24 caps for Austria in 7-8 years. I didn’t think Austria was blessed with an excessive number of top quality centrebacks. Where has he been?

Someone said they are singing the same chant as Micky VDV for Spence.

I’m still annoyed we never did this for Udogie
