So much? It differs by 0.1-0.2. And the answer is that he uses a different model than xG philosophy.

Once is enough for me thanks.Just highlights of tonight’s game. Highlights being a subjective term here.
Field tilt is a proportion of how many touches in the final third each team had, out of the total final third touches both teams had. To simplify, we played in their half a lot more than they played in ours.WTF is a field tilt?
We lost (sic) tonight because Romero and Porro were lazy and Ange fucked up.
I'm disappointed by the melters here, they've been relatively subdued compared to their usual standards in terms of piling shit on the likes of Johnston, Richarlison, Kulusevski, Werner and of course Ange. C'mon guys, I depend on you to cheer me up by reminding me how many people are more miserable than I am.
Very disappointing to drop two points but we move on.
Hope Bentancur is ok. I thought he was good defensively tonight but a bit toothless in possession.
Presumably Bissouma back from the Naughty Step next week to replace Bentancur, although Gray has made a case too. I thought Gray was absolutely outstanding for the 20-odd minutes he was on.
Would have liked to see Ange go to his bench sooner to take advantage of fresh legs and a strong bench. With hindsight, around the 55' mark would have been great.
Disappointing to see us struggle against the low block again. We'll get another chance to improve on that next week. The Maddison / Udogie / Son combo in the first half provided decent penetration but didn't find the right cutbacks.
Good to see Maddison coming back into form, and Udogie did better than I expected on the back of zero preseason. The Johnson / Sarr / Porro combination on the right is never going to work well against low blocks and I hope Ange mixes it up for the Everton game. Hope Porro is ok but Spence / Bergvall / Odobert could be an interesting right-side combo.
Would love to be a fly on the wall for Ange's match review video session this week.
We weren’t too far away but we absolutely need to take that next step or we will not improve on last season. If we don’t we may even do significantly worse than last season, where we really rode that opening hot streak. Such form has not been repeated since.Agree with every word.
That right side needs a tweak because the balance isn’t right. In hindsight Ange would probably start Kulusevski and bring Johnson on vs tired legs.
Thought we looked really really good for long stretches. It was fun to watch seeing Maddison in the mood, pinging passes, dropping the shoulder and going by people with stepovers. What we lacked was that late arriving box crash run when we got to the byline. They were surrounding Solanke and leaving spaces for the cut back or back post

Exactly. Our one goal was a Porro box crash, although maybe early arriving rather than late.Agree with every word.

We created a lot of threats down the left but our second-last ball was off tonight so we didn't convert left-side threat to chances.
We didn't create as much threat down the right but I thought we did convert that threat into chances more efficiently, just didn't finish them.
Overall we weren't good enough. If we'd drawn 1-1 with an xG of 0.5-3.0 we could put it down to poor finishing and that might be somehow easier to take. But in the end, 1-1 was a fair result according to xG, which is a bitter pill to swallow.
But as always there are positives and for once we have personnel options that can address some of the deficiencies.
Romero jogging past Vardy and leaving him unmarked for their goal is the only moment that I'm having trouble looking past to find the positives.
9/10 we win that game.
We didn’t get much luck and didn’t make our own luck by taking chances.
Football will punish you for that. Move on and play that well for 70min instead of 55mn against Everton and we will win.
We've seen a fair few games like that and will continue to do so until we actually upgrade the personnel. Good intentions, lots of ball, but don't creative enough of quality and allow too much of quality against us.
Different companies use slightly different models which throw up slightly different metrics. Either way, in terms of chances they both tell a similar story. A not great one for us in terms of quality chance creation and prevention.
yea good idea. lets sell our best player to real madrid again. lets give son a contract extension so we can have that wuss as captain for another 3 years to make sure we dont go anywhere. while we are doing all this self harm we might as well give johnson a contract extension too. thats our level! If Romero is indeed a world class defender worth 70+ million, he doesn't show it for us. Johnny Evens would have done a better job of marking Vardy.
I Real or Barca offer the money this window, bite their hand off.
He's a great player - but he's not playing for us and rarely has. His mind is elsewhere.

thats bullshit. he shows more passion than anyone on the pitch for us and has done for a long time. one fucking instance? what about the forwards being absolute dog shit time and time again?Romero doesn't play with anywhere near the effort that he does for Argentina. His heart and head is at Real Madrid. If he can't mark a 50 year old Jamie Vardy, he's not our 'best player'.
