We weren’t too far away but we absolutely need to take that next step or we will not improve on last season. If we don’t we may even do significantly worse than last season, where we really rode that opening hot streak. Such form has not been repeated since.

We created a lot of threats down the left but our second-last ball was off tonight so we didn't convert left-side threat to chances.
We didn't create as much threat down the right but I thought we did convert that threat into chances more efficiently, just didn't finish them.
Overall we weren't good enough. If we'd drawn 1-1 with an xG of 0.5-3.0 we could put it down to poor finishing and that might be somehow easier to take. But in the end, 1-1 was a fair result according to xG, which is a bitter pill to swallow.
But as always there are positives and for once we have personnel options that can address some of the deficiencies.
Romero jogging past Vardy and leaving him unmarked for their goal is the only moment that I'm having trouble looking past to find the positives tbh.
xG is a very limited stat for games like tonight. I don’t really get how that Bentancur chance and Solanke chance don’t add up to 1 xG by themselves. Let alone the corners we had and other shots on target. What was the xG on Richys header? Or Solanke’s 2 headers?
I’m not one for fair results or not because you always get the fair result. I would just say that if you give up 2 good chances in a game and create 5 good ones yourself, you will win the game much more often than not.
Disagree. We've seen a fair few games like that and will continue to do so until we actually upgrade the personnel. Good intentions, lots of ball, but don't creative enough of quality and allow too much of quality against us.
Different companies use slightly different models which throw up slightly different metrics. Either way, in terms of chances they both tell a similar story. A not great one for us in terms of quality chance creation and prevention.
Yeah agree with all of this. Of course overall we deserved to win. But we were not swashbuckling or carving them open repeatedly at all. Others seem to have been watching a different match to me.
I thought we were good first half without really being great. Leicester were a damp squib which helped. Chances of quality were hard to come by but our goal was nice.
We really don’t create enough clear cut chances for an attacking, dominant side. And when things are going bad we really do give up some big ones. Despite Leicester lacking a single player we should have to fear, and their system being non-existent.
It’s worrying. Sorry. It’s obviously not the world is ending stuff but it doesn’t bode well for us pushing on to being a top 4 side who can win a cup.
If Romero is indeed a world class defender worth 70+ million, he doesn't show it for us. Johnny Evens would have done a better job of marking Vardy.

Romero doesn't play with anywhere near the effort that he does for Argentina. His heart and head is at Real Madrid. If he can't mark a 50 year old Jamie Vardy, he's not our 'best player'.
