Match Leicester away Monday 19th 20.00 GMT

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Scrappy draw predicted here. If I've managed to bin off hope and remove it from my brain, so can others.

Together we can defeat optimism.

:angehug:

Why shouldn’t we have “realistically”
expected to win that game , comfortably.

Many other sides will go there and turn Leicester over . ( Thoroughly) .

Why shouldn’t we , realistically NOT optimistically hope to do the same ?

It’s not the result that’s hard to take, it’s the fact that there was absolutely nothing from that game from either players or the manager to give any hope of an improvement from last season. Absolutely nothing. Even if we had scored a late winner, the tactics , the tippy tappy on the edge of the area, no crosses, inverted wingers. It’s just the same. It actually could even get worse .

Dissappointing. But still, many short memories in here. We were strolling first half, and shoukd have been out of sight.

Second half, we fell off a cliff. Weak and bad mentality, but we showed some good stuff before that
If this exact same thing hadn’t happened repeatedly last year, it’d be totally fair to chalk it up to one of those days. But unfortunately it’s a trend now, that badly needs to cease.

They didn't seem to learn that lesson all of last season. In fact we were crap at it under Conte too. Team has lots of different personnel since then so err .. what's up? Why are we consistently a one half team, its so fucking rare we go out and put in a more or less polished 90 mins.

In premier league football you'll never have the full game to yourself, but other than some 10-15 sticky periods, we should be able to regularly play mostly well throughout matches.
I wish I knew what the problem was. As you say, different managers, different players, same shite. And you know I’m no subscriber to “bald man bad” as the constant here. It’s a mystery, as that team should have battered Leicester out of sight.

Feel bad saying this after his very concerning injury, but thought Bentancur was dreadful today. If Bissouma is going to unreliable in play and behavior, #6 looks like a real issue in the squad.

After being our two best players in preseason, Bergvall and Kulusevski unsurprisingly looked great when they came on. I know Bergvall got caught in possession, but it was only because he took responsibility and was looking to receive the ball at every opportunity.

Son was shockingly poor, but Maddison was very good. We’re still extremely reliant on those two to make things happen and I think that will be a theme all year.
Good post. But Bentancur can't be criticised here. People who thought he's good today really forgot how good he used to be, even after his long injury.

I missed the best version of Biss from beginning of last season. Receive the ball from the back and build the progression forward while being press-resistant and breaking the lines. Rodri level. Will never see that again I reckoned...
