The youngsters looked fearless today. They're 100% ready, they look good, and that has lifted me a bit after a flat result. I don't read too much into Vic shouting at Bergvall. I'm sure the kid has been bellowed at by coaches and team mates plenty of times!

just watching it now and on 84 mins. theyve come on sharp. needed to be on far sooner, 10 mins not long enough. gray is a beast at winning the ball, berg had lovely little ball roll straight off the bat. getting the fans gee'd up too.

Looking at our first 10 fixtures this was a must win.I can see us being about 10 th after 10 games unless we find our shooting boots quickly. After Everton we have Newcastle away Gunners At home Man U away and only Brentford in between. On form today that is probably 3 defeats

if we dont beat everton and he doesnt learn his lesson, then after 4 games its going to look grim because well struggle against newcastle and Woolwich, especially if morale is down. everton is a must win! if we dont win that its serious problems, this goes back to the chelsea game lets not forget.

Same old Same old yet again, dominated for around the hour, then the all too familiar poor defending allowed them back in.
The usual pattern then followed, being under the cosh it was all self inflicted.
What is the point of this fancy football that has no end product.
New season Same old problems, sorry ange but, your comment of ," I normally win something second season ", you are not winning anything when you can't defend or tuck chances away.

Son will get Ange sacked - at least Johnson will be dropped for Eve. Son will be flouncing about for another 6 games until Ange is really under pressure and is forced to make changes as his position will be under threat

Why does it hurt so much? It’s ridiculous. Such a silly little game, but it does.

Every year I tell myself that I know what to expect, to not get my hopes up and to just enjoy the ride, but this weird club has such a weird hold on me.

Frustrating as fuck. I thought that was the longest during a game that we’ve seen Ange ball. Probably the best we’ve played under him until their goal, and then head loss. But no point playing well if we’re gonna waste all those chances and concede at the first attempt on our goal.

The defence fucking bizarre. I’d struggle to find a player in the world that I’d swap for any of those four that started last night. But again, one shot, one goal.

I know people will say they need better protection, ‘get a new no 6 in!’ has been the cry, but you could put prime Makelele in there and they’d still have to defend at least one bloody shot in a game. Every team has to face attempts at their goal, even Man City. But no, our world class defence melts at the first sign of pressure. Truly bizarre.

Massive 2 points dropped. I really worry where we’ll be by October when you look at those fixtures. I hope Ange has his big boy pants on, because the pressure on him is sadly going to be deafening.

Arrrrrgh. Ffs, Spurs. Why are you like the way you are?!?

Now that I’ve been able to let the emotion of the game subside.

Positives:

First half, we absolutely dominated. We need to finish games like that off when we are in the ascendency like we were.

Maddison was the common denominator to everything good in the first half. Good to see.

Thought Solanke grew into the game. I think he will be a solid addition.

The kids (Gray and Bergvall) didn’t look out of place. I actually thought we played more fluid ball with those two and Kulusevski in MF.

Negatives:

Second half was a travesty after the equaliser.

Maddison’s fitness is atrocious right now. He was blowing out his ass by the 55th minute.

Romero switched off for the goal. Looked like he tried getting back into position but Sarr was already covering for him. I still have 100% faith in him.

It’s a bit frustrating this game followed such a familiar script. We consistently give up incredible chances while producing a bunch of half chances.

The lack of detail in regards to defending, will be his managerial undoing.

The kids did well mate. Really good signs taking into account when they were brought on. Game in the balance and all that.

Re Vic, it's no biggie but i think he went too far with the tantrum.

Reflecting on the game hasn’t really changed any of my views.

- kids: Bergvall and Gray will be soon in the starting XI, excellent additions

- Maddison: brilliant when on it but needs competition/cover hopefully Kulusevski will be it

- Son/Johnson: sorry you cannot play these two together. Neither take their man on or have much of a physical presence. Leads to so many of our attacks being a damp-squib

Sarr: I know we love him and he does get around but you can see why we were linked with Gallagher and Ederson and now apparently Joao Gomes. We need a hyper energy PittBull badly I think, not sure Sarr is the player.

We have to hope the club buys Ederson/Joao and Odobert has the skillset we need for the wide players.

Frustrating that it's almost a carbon copy of the opening day of last season. Dominate the ball for most of game. Player goes off with a head injury. Right back scores our goal. Draw away from home.

Atleast last season we then went on a great run. Let's hope for similar, but with better depth. Need to smash Everton.

I think it was an important moment for the clubs future.

Whilst the senior players looked lost and almost beaten, these youngsters came on and were brave.

Ange needs to be brave against Everton. Throw them in.

Yeh I have no issues throwing the youngsters and making them first 11 players.

United do it with Mainoo, Arse did it with Saka (although he should actually get rested sometimes). Gray and Bergvall have been playing men’s football week in week out for over a year. If they are superior to the older players they should play.
