Match Leicester City v Tottenham Hotspur

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

True.

I think it is just frustrating that we appear to have gone backwards from the second half of last season (not that this condones racist abuse or abusing our players). Our play is just too predictable when we need to break down a defence, and not just at Wembley.

Every season under Poch has followed pretty much the same pattern: struggle first few games - then some very good performances - struggle Oct/Nov - then play really really well from xmas to nearly the end - then at the end either continue form or drop off depending on motivation

If it's "unacceptable", as per your non acceptance, what are YOU going to do about it exactly?

I think you’re taking this a bit too far now. I was expressing my own opinion that the results I mentioned are unacceptable considering how we performed against the same teams last season. If you’re happy with them then that’s your own opinion.

I felt it was dropping off a bit - you got a decent reception on ft and there were a few posts talking about HK in admiring tones and wondering where the hate had come from in the first place. For the record I think he's a fantastic player and seems a perfectly decent bloke too.

It's always felt a bit manufactured to me anyway - never been any bad blood before and most Leicester fans I know have always liked Spurs.

I did think the Mrs Vardy chants/Mr Vardy riposte were great fun last night though. Can't help feeling that Vardy - the epitome of a fan who's wandered on to the pitch with his boots on and just happens to be really good at football - completely gets all that stuff.

Oh completely. Generated in no small part by the Media / BBC who, despite us never really being in it, where desperate to have a "title race" to talk about, with most of the big team in the league having an off season.

I guess the Vardy thing was payback for us singing "Shit Jamie Vardy" back at you after Kane scored 4.

Which in turn started with us singing it at him in the first place....

Must admit, I always like it when a player cops a ton of (usually unwarranted but because he's actually a threat) abuse and then sticks it straight back.

Genuine question based on the words YOU chose..... No need to get irked, maybe just choose more wisely.

Seems to me like you're simply dissapointed; join the club.

Peace, yido.

Noticed that too. I think a lot to do with fitness/exhaustion. Yesterday we weren't pressing as a team, most of the time. When we did we looked a lot more dangerous. Plus some individual players look knackered.

My theory: we struggle at the start of the season, before fitness peaks, Poch's pre-season training methods involving us coming to peak fitness slightly later than other teams. After a good spell, we then struggle after a few weeks of playing more games than most PL teams, due to Europe. This season in particular we've played with such intensity in the CL. Personally I would have played a weaker side in Dortmund and just hoped we'd beat APOEL, as already qualified, but understand the other argument. Then we do very well over Christmas because we tend to reach peak fitness around this time, without the distraction of Europe, and other teams are playing the same amount of games as us. This lasts us through to near the end, or the end, of the season, but probably won't if we have an extended run in the CL this season.

This is not meant as a criticism of Poch, I think that he is getting the best out of the players in this way and is constantly tweaking his methods in order to perfect all this (for instance we looked less knackered at the end of last season compared to the one before, possibly motivation related too as you say, also we rely on the pressing game less than we did at the start of Poch's reign, when it clearly was unsustainable). Playing in this way does rely on us grinding out results like the Palace game, when not at full fitness, and ultimately it will often be these results that will make our break our season.

I also worry about the impact on playing regularly on a heavy pitch at Wembley and the amount of injuries we have this year may not be a coincidence.

On pretty much every measure apart from the key one - goals - we were the better side tonight. This is a bad run of league form obviously, but when you looked at the fixture list objectively a month ago I'd probably expected a tough ride. During this same tricky period we have also beaten Madrid and Dortmund - results that everyone seems to have forgotten quickly.

At the start of the season we knew this was going to be a tricky year. No real home ground, and a system ill equipped for Wembleys pitch size meant that a title push was never going to be possible. Never the less, top 4 was a viable target and still very much is.

Toby is critical to our success, as much as Kane. We need him back. Sissoko clearly has dirt on Poch because the guy is a fucking liability. Lamela reminded us tonight why his craft is worth a hundred of Sissoko's head down runs.

Hold the faith, the bump is almost over.
If i could give you an agree and a like, I would.

Saw this on reddit earlier... for anyone who has forgotton how poor we were this time last year. Yes, we missed Kane for some of that - but our Wanyama and Toby injuries are also big.

We're not Everton right now, that's for sure.

We didnt buy the 5 players we needed though
Exactly as I said at the time. We sat on our hands during 9/10ths of the window while everyone alse acted. And 3 of the 5, Foyth, Gazzaniga and Llorente were neve gonna be the catalyst for a title push were they. And we downgraded Walker with Aurier.
Anyway. Youve got me on ignore you said. You're acting like a dirty little pervert who has to take a sneaky look now and then
Who were the 5 players we needed then? That would have had us up with City?

Bet you don't name them.

Tbh, i love all the inter-fan banter (esp. at games), its players adopting the aforemention 'cup final' mentality for a psuedo, one way rivalry that gets under my skin. I'd be left feeling thoroughly ripped off for 36 games per season if that was me.

Genuine question; who are your proper rivals?

Good to remind ourselves that we certainly didnt cruise to second last year. Although some might say that there are three of our toughest away games in that lot.

Indeed - but part of this 'rut' has included Old Trafford and the Emirates...

As much as I think we'll improve, I do fear that the 'Wembley' factor will stop us going on some of the excellent runs we had last season. Then again, if we get the squad fully fit then who knows.
