£6m is £115k a week wage .
I get that. The salary of an above average player.

So, we don’t pay him that. Maybe a third? So we’d save £80k per week? Or £4m on a near £600m annual revenue?

As I said in my earlier post, probably should be questioned, but hardly the big issue right now. Levy helping himself to a generous salary doesn’t explain last nights bullshit.

Yup last night was down to injuries squad depth ( talent ) and poor management . I’d probably add mentality too , we’re fragile as fuck

Start spreading the news ,Ange is leaving today
He’s no longer a part of it Bald Cunt Bald Cunt
Our Vagabond club is starting to stray
We’ve had the heart ripped out of it Bald Cunt Bald Cunt

I wanna wake up to a club that’s not asleep
With someone else king of the hill , not the little creep
Small club mentality blues, success melting away
Let’s make a brand new start of it , without Bald Cunt

My sincerest apologies to Mrs P and anyone else offended by the C bomb , sometimes only one word will do

The thoughts expressed in this song are in the imagination of the composer , and are not meant to represent anyone living or dead

Not exactly Bob Dylan I must admit , but it’s topical protest song
Not bad, 10 000 singing that would be quite amusing.

Get it trending.

No, it doesn’t explain last night.

But it betrays the cosy, self serving and fundamentally uncompetitive culture that Levy has installed. There is a persistent shamelessness about Daniel. Pays himself the most whilst delivering zero sporting success and continuously firing managers and fiddling with the structure, to masquerade his incompetence.

In fact, it’s not even incompetence. It’s indifference. Give the devil their due - he is exceedingly competent in certain areas.

And, in terms of players, it all filters down. I suspect we’re the cushiest gig going. Good money, London, amazing stadium, no pressure. We turn up every now and then, like an excellent exhibition team, but wilt when there’s expectation.

No manager can fix that. They might do slightly better, but they won’t change the fundamental culture. That has to be installed by an ownership that place sporting success above all other metrics.

This summer's transfer window was absolutely criminal. Reeks of wage cutting.
Hmm....

Ange when asked about spending 100m on teenagers said this....

"It is still the right decision and I own them transfers because I believe they are the right decisions for this club. I make these decisions with the background that I’m going to be here for a while to see this through.

To be honest, if I was worried about my own existence I would have fought tooth and nail to block Harry Kane leaving but it wasn’t the right decision for the club because he was in the last year of his contract.

That is not what drives me. The decisions we made around signing young players are the right decisions for this club for where we are at right now and they will bear fruit. Yeah we have lost experience but we needed to do that. We needed to do that because it was a team that was coming towards the end of its cycle and we were rebuilding not just the squad but the playing style and you couldn’t replace experience with experience because that is not a rebuild.”

I don’t think it’s fair to say zero sporting success. We have been the 4th / 5th best side in the country on average for over a decade now. If you are specifically measuring trophies, then ok, zero.

And whilst I understand what you are saying about culture, I just find it impossible to make the deductive leaps to get me from “Levy pays himself a lot” all the way to Udogie not dealing with a corner at Bournemouth.

Although I have to agree that our players do appear to have it a bit easy. Not sure that comes from Levy though.

Stupid idea from a stupid twitter account.

Levy has already had the cash for the seats and why would 40,000 ST holders sit at home?? 🤦🏻‍♂️
Agree with this. The only way you get real pressure is him getting dogs abuse game in game out. It worked against Sugar. Only time Levy has looked rattled was that Brentford home defeat under Mason when he got plenty. Not particulaly pleasant but what other choice is there at this point?

Causation doesn't work at that sort of micro-level. Udogie (or Drag, depending on your point of view) failed to deal with that fractional moment and we conceded. Case closed. In that regard, it's no one's fault other than the individuals.

But causation, or at least trends, can be established at a macro-level. Managers have it far harder. They get about a year to prove the direction they're moving in. And then all of those momentary mistakes are aggregated to demonstrate a more general trend.

For Daniel, we've got about 25 years worth of data. Yes, we were great under Poch. And, if he gets pelters for our poor times, he deserves praise for those good times. Other than that, his priority has always been the commercial development of his asset. And I certainly don't make any causal link between his pay and our performance. I just think he doesn't deserve those sums.

Hates agent fees. Seems to like his own.
