You’re making the mistake of thinking that levy is a good business man . He’s a property man , building off of debt . If we were to fall into the championship , he’d not have a fucking clue how to get us out of it .
If Levy see's a Championship club's wage bill he might aim to keep us there and have more buskers at the Levydome.

23 home games and the Johnstones Trophy too.

Kerching.

Remember the 40’s, with Hitler and the bombing of Britain and cancellation of the football for a period. At least it’s not the 40’s, there has been no world war during the ENIC tenure and we can be thankful for that. We are in better shape than the 1940’s.

This constantly rehashed idea that ENIC will sell if Spurs are relegated is absurd.

Why does anyone think this is what would happen? It's utter nonsense.

Relegation would be a disaster for the club.
There are more home games in the Championship...

Some ridiculous accusations about Levy tonight. Stick to the main reasons being the lack of Football success. The media are commentating about the lack of success, wage ratio and the protests and have no reason to support Levy. Wishing football failure such as relegation is not something any true Spurs supporter should wish for and as already pointed out will achieve nothing.

The 40's !!
You don't know how lucky you were mate. The 40's were a cakewalk .
I remember the 30's. Now we're talking proper rough living. The great depression. Unemployment. Grinding poverty. Boiled rotten cabbage and steamed sawdust was the highlight of our week matey. Be careful what you wish for is all I can say!

I think ENIC and Levy want to be THFC's landlords.

Sell off the football operation but rent the facilities back to the franchise.

No way they are taking their hands out of our pockets now.

He's running it into the ground hoping someone will buy / invest in the football operation.
I've thought this to be the most likely scenario for some time tbh. The ultimate goal for the Levy is to land his treasured NFL franchise. If / when he achieves that, the football club takes on a much more insignificant role in the empire. It's why the "club" have this unwritten "no statue policy".

Tottenham Hotspur FC is slowly being strangled to death before our very eyes

Spot on. He’s not a good businessman, he’s a speculative leach - put him in charge of WPP, GSK or BP and he wouldn’t have a fucking clue how to adapt and take them forward. Asda maybe, a one tricked retailer like Mike Ashley

Big difference between a locust that prey on a quick win, vs an adaptable, sector agnostic operator that can drive performance…. After 25 years and he still hasn’t grasped the nuance of football. Little spiv chancer

He’s an accountant. He doesn’t have a propensity for risk at all, however small, and has no sensible idea of worth of an asset. It’s why nobody can buy the club (or parts of it they are open to selling off) and it is also why our transfer ins and outs are as they are during their tenure.

There have been many periods over the years where the public have struggled financially and you use it to knock Levy . Well educate yourself before knocking the Levy family , they gave us cheap clothes with the wonderful clothing chain Mister Byrite . Suits , jackets and trousers that in my experience disintegrated or fell to pieces upon a second wearing. Leaving you in desperate need of a new suit for work , luckily there was a cheap clothing retailer called Mister Byrite to help you out . I believe this is where the cheap, rinse and repeat business model was invented . We are blessed to have such entrepreneurs in charge .

Nearly every fan now apart from about 40 on here are in the. “ Don’t piss up my back and tell me it’s raining” camp regarding Levy and ENIC I would imagine

What separates a day tripper from a passionate Spurs fan that just doesn't get to go to many matches? Is that the same thing? I expect a lot of us on here come from the likes of Chelmsford and Northampton. Is your gripe that they don't chant/sing? Do true fans not buy programmes or bring kids?

I think Levy would prefer 60k tourists every match.
I don't have a gripe with them at all. With the cost of football today, many fans are priced out and can only afford to go to one or two games. But these games, for families in this predicament are similar to going to the zoo or a theme park for the day... i.e. its now an attraction for day trippers. Also, I could have picked any town / city within 100 miles and I live not too far from one of those towns from my original post so I'm absolutely not having a pop at those specific towns. My main point is that day trippers might be passionate Spurs fans who want to see the team win but they are not going to let a poor result ruin their experience. They will be dissapointed but they will not pile in on managers, owners etc like a season ticket holders whose investment both financially and time is likely to lead to lashing out if the value for money/time isn't there.

I don't disagree Memphis and they probably wouldn't sell as the price would be half what it would be if we had PL status. My point is, a few more seasons in the bottom half, toxicity every game damaging the brand and maybe they diverse. I do disagree with the concept relegation is a disaster. Villa spent 3 seasons in the Championship recently. Suffered serious financial blows but look at them now. Miles ahead of us unless you consider balance sheets and financial statements as a measure of a football clubs success.

Seemed to regalvanise Villa. Got relegated, got new owners, spent 3 seasons in championship, got promoted in 2019, now miles ahead of us on the pitch.

Levy set Ange up to fail.

I don't think the team being near the bottom of the league table is what Levy had in mind when he employed Postecoglou.

And what is the next manager going to do?
He'll need to work with the majority of the same players.
Are we going to spend a few seasons near the bottom now because the players Levy got for Postecoglou aren't good enough, or is the next manager going to organise the team better so we're battling for top 4 (which is what Levy wants)?

No chance getting an NFL franchise. So many hurdles. I can see playoff games being played in London in the next ten years but a franchise in London profoundly changes the NFL eco system. What division would they play in? This requires 24 of the 32 owners to agree to it. Maybe the Jags up sticks from Jacksonville but again that is years off.
