yep Levy absolutely played us with his event's and football arena.

the fact that he just came out and basically said we wont/cant be spending much money after previous comments pre stadium about it being game changing and a way to compete with the very top clubs....it's crazy really the deceit

(that arse victory last night has kind of just refreshed everyone's memory about our massive fall/failure to capitalize on establishing ourselves permanently as a top club)

fucking untrustworthy snake

Honestly think Levy has been rumbled now.

More and more people are seeing it for what it is and if anything the likes of Brighton, Brentford and Bournemouth make it harder for him to pull off this underdog model of trying to compete without signing top wage players.

If they want to reverse the trend, they need to change the wage structure and bring in legit world class players to fit squad needs instead of searching for the best deals for young players who could end up world class eventually buy maybe don’t really fit a position of need in the squad right now.
There is no desire to reverse the trend. We have served our purpose.
We are the host they've fed off to build their multipurpose NFL / entertainment arena and now they have us exactly where they want us.
A middling PL ever present. Snouts in the trough with no need and no motivation to actually push for glory.

We are just being entitled if we think we deserve anymore than that mate…

After all, what were Spurs winning before ENIC?

Know your place Spurs fans

We’ve been going downhill since we moved into the stadium. That’s why Kane knew he had to leave.

Conte was a blip in the trend.

We aren’t even poundland Chelsea anymore, we are poundland Brighton atm because that’s who Levy wants to be but they are better at it.

Last time I checked, Brighton didn't reach a league cup Semi and weren't in the QF's of Europa. Our net spend over the last 5 years on transfers is HALF A BILLION. Brighton is 70m. We've spend almost double what Liverpool have.

Problem we have is that we cannot attract world class players. There are 10 clubs+ that they would prefer to play for; and without Champions League; we are not shopping in the same market as the top clubs - and therefore the fans need to temper their expectations. Spurs are NOT a big club with regards to achievements and reputation. They are a small club, that got lucky that Bale & Kane were world class players.

Smart transfer business means finding more Dele, Eriksen type deals; and investing in the academy to provide a steady flow of quality. Not spending money on players with big reputations or has-beens (.e.g. Felix, Coutinho, Sancho), and certainly not spending huge money on mid level journey men like Richarlison and Solanke.

why are we even trying to copy Brighton's model, buying ultra cheap data led based players, why aren't we acting like a club of our standing.

ClubTotal gate receipts 23-24
Real Madrid£153m
PSG£139m
Woolwich£127m
Bayern Munich£109m
Man Utd£107m
Tottenham£102m
Barcelona£96m
Liverpool£90m
Man City£74m
Chelsea£71m
AC Milan£71m
Atletico Madrid£61m
Marseille£56m
Inter Milan£55m

and the above was without any extra european games and very early cup exits.

he likes to make out we dumb ass fans want us to spend until we end up going bankrupt, he knows best but all the info is out there for those he have a basic understanding, Throwing stadium debt up as a reason does not work. we aren't that stupid. Just because I have a mortgage doesn't mean I can only shop at B&M

Everyone has evolved and he hasn’t. he is still trying the same things that didn’t work over a decade ago and expecting them to somehow work.

Levy is nowhere near the savvy businessman he thinks he is. Pretty dumb to make a reputation in an industry as a difficult person known for their brinkmanship.

Other chairmen will simply add another £5m to players we want, so Levy can feel good about himself when he gets £3m off the price and still ends up paying more than they really wanted.

Very clearly time to let a bigger boy have a go but he won’t do that.

In fact the only way I could see him step aside is if we win the EL. Then his ego could say that he did all this to build the club and also managed to win things.

Even then, I only think he’d sell and move on if he was confident he was selling to someone the fans would hate.
I disagree strongly with the last paragraph here. I do believe he wants the best for the club. Is he capable of delivering that? Unlikely. Does he think he’s right and everyone else is wrong? Likely.

He and they will sell when they get an amazing offer. Doubt he’ll care too much about what the fans think. Certainly don’t think he’s just going to sell to someone the fans will hate. He’ll have numerous motivations above that.

I agree he’d sell for the best offer for his terms.

Not sure I’ve ever seen any evidence he wants what’s best for the club

There’s no chance you are a Spurs fan. Sorry, there just isn’t.

Probably bangs in a good 70 hours a week for 25 years. Gets well rewarded for it mind you.

Don’t know how you can look at the infrastructure of the club, the money that’s been spent and think he doesn’t want what’s best. He’s not delivered it, but I’d be stunned if it wasn’t for the want of trying.

I've never known a supposed Spurs fan belittle his own club and our rich, pre - ENIC history like him

Wasn't this "small club" the first English club to lift a major European trophy. The first English club to win the double in 50 years. The pre ENIC record FA Cup winners. Holds the highest home attendance record.

Yeah. Proper minnows

Also...Notice the term 'they' rather than 'we'

He speaks of us how I would expect a Gooner or Chav to speak of us

He's done all that to increase the value if his asset and get a bigger return on his investment.

The club is the football team and he's never been as dedicated to the football club succeeding.
