With £££ in football & transfer fee's falling massively its suprising teams are all breaking there record for transfer fee's :pochcmon:

Money in football always spikes and simmers when TV Deals are concluded. The longer Tav companies keep paying more, the longer fees will inevitably rise. I personally don't see the vast inflation TV companies are adhering to rising like they have in such large percentages but we'll see. The next TV deal due for English teams is 2022 I believe.

Something doesn't add up with the Willian Jose situation. There's something a little iffy about it all if what you're saying is true about the £22m fee. Maybe we baulked at it, maybe the media are causing a stir I honestly don't know how best to conclude it but clearly something went on.
Fair enough, but the media who were breaking the story and its developments were staid local papers and radio, not the headline-splashing tabloidesque Marca, As, Mundo Deportivo or Sport

Real Sociedad aren't a club that normally attracts a media frenzy, quite the opposite really

I remember reading something from an apparently reliable local Norwegian news outlet saying that we were advanced in discussions to conclude a deal for Sander Berge back in 2018 I believe it was. Norwegian locals saying it was a guy with his ear very close to the ground over in Oslo and nothing came of it. I guess unless something comes out at a later date we'll never know Bill.

Talking to a pretty savvy business man recently and he says anyone taking Spurs at face value these days would believe Levy/Lewis have priced themselves out of the market if their planning to sell the club anytime soon ie; not many have the cash to buy a “modest” football club for approximately 1.5bn quid before doing anything else after that, and that rich people are rich for a reason, they aren’t foolish with their money....good point to be fair....

What he does believe tho is this chain of events might happen:

The owners have basically mortgaged the stadium meaning a buyer would never have to come up with all the cash required to buy the club all at once, it would basically be a case of buying L&L out and the mortgage stays with the club, so the club looks like 1.5bn on paper but would take only a fraction of that to buy....
He also believes the naming rights still up for grabs (Un-Levy like) has an underlaying agenda, he thinks Levy and Co don’t want to sell but instead bring in a massive partner, their share of the deal will be having their brand all over the place while Levy still runs the show....if you think about it, it’s a win win any way you look at it...because Levy and Lewis are still major shareholders any money from share sales can “legally” stay within the club as would any additional sponsorship....
It’s almost doing a Man City, but legally!!

Man City got a fair bit of investment recently from selling some shares externally didn't they? Seemed like a cover up tactic, I think it was for £300m or so, let me check

Edit: here it is, instant cash and all above board according to the accountants:

He's been here 20 fucking years man.
At least be fucking sensible about it if you're gonna join the debate.
Are you saying all Newcastle fans should suck off Mike Ashley cos he broke Newcastles record transfer fee twice in 12 months?
I see you wouldn't answer the question then? ... are you afraid of the answer? Here have another go ...

Bazali Bazali asked: But how many times have we broken our transfer record under Levy?

It's a stupid fucking question that doesn't warrant an answer when you look at the amorphisation of the transfer market over the last 2 decades.

How many times has he broken our transfer record recieved by selling our best players over the last 20 years

So you don't know .... got it

FYI - the answer is seventeen times since Rebrov under Sugar ..... can you name any owners who have broken their club's transfer record more times than ENIC and Levy?

as for received records ... you tell me, let's see if you know about anything that you're as usual wildly gobbing off about

Bill Madrid Bill Madrid .
We have a new one to add to this summers bingo card

"B.b.but how many times have we broken our transfer record in the last 20 years"
