Will got an assist today as well - so now 12 goals and 4 assists for the season in 43 Championship, 2 FA Cup ties and 1 League cup appearances totalling 3,066 mins

That's a lot of playing time to get on a first loan, and ideal to develop Will. Very productive loan

Takai came on 90+1 yesterday, 0-0.
Akhamrich did 84, 4-0.
Hall unused sub as County secure a play off slot.
Irow came on 57 and scored as Mansfield won 4-1 away.
2 assists for Devine as PNE won 3-2 away.
Phillips 90 as Stoke stuffed 1-3 again.
Donley did 63.
2 goals and an assist for Big Will. Won 4-1 but Oxford relegated.
Vuskovic not in squad. Hamburg lost again.

Devine getting 2 assists puts him on 8 goals and 8 assists (16 goal involvements) for Preston in Championship this season- played in 47 games (44 in Championship plus domestic cup games) totalling 3225 mins.

Again a good loan for minutes played to give him more experience and very decent stats.

He went through a barren patch where his form dropped off, which is expected with young players I think. That was also when Preston lost touch with the play-off places, which shows how important he is to them.

Devine and Dobbin (LW) both have similar goal involvement stats (Dobbin slightly better at 10 goals and 8 assists) and both topped the charts at Preston this season. Other forwards and AM's at Preston typically had half the goal involvements that those two got - so I think the problem is more that if either of those two don't get goals or assists, Preston don't have players able to step up with goals/assists with any certainty/consistency. whereas better teams might have 4 players who consistently get goals/assists - so if one isn't getting goals/assists one of the other 4 players will

So yes he's been very important for Preston this season.

Yesterday's games:
Solomon did 90. 0-0.
Yang not in squad.
Moore came on at HT with Rangers losing 2-2. Got back to 2-2 but lost 3-2 to a goal in the last minute.
Title hopes effectively over.
Hibs GK sent off on 14 mins and then reduced to 9 men just after HT.
Scarlett unused sub. 1-2.

Only 2 midweek games for our loanees:
Mansfield/Irow unused sub vs Posh tonight. 0-0.
Rosario/Veliz had a game at 1 am Wednesday morning.
Veliz did 80. 3-0.

Another one no more fucking loans. We have players playing in our first team who are younger and have not had much top level football before joining us like gray and berg. Why is it automatically deemed players like Devine are not good enough or ready yet gray one season in champo for Leeds and we shell out £40M. H is no where levels of Wharton for ex.

The only 'up side' to going down is we might get to see Devine Philips Lankshear Moore Ajayi and LWB get proper 1st mins.

IMO players such as Devine and Phillips, both of whom had 2 full seasons of loans at beginning of this season could/should have been with squad this season, either in addition to or maybe taking places of Dragusin and Sarr without loss of much quality particularly as both incoming players are far better all rounders on ball than players they might replace so fit spurs style of play better. Sarr's powerful running and shot are good but everything else is pretty average.

I've been guilty of thinking 'this is the one' going all the way back to Andy Turner, Darren Caskey, Neale Fenn and Barnard....however during those times we always had players who I had faith in even if the supporting cast weren't up to much. Now I can barely think of one of the experienced lads who I would give a shit to ever see in our kit again.

Which is dicey ground as the truth is it's highly unlikely that two or three will be PL standard players but I'd sooner it was they than any of those clowns we have playing now, who didn't cut the mustard, whilst at least getting a chance.
