Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

IMO players such as Devine and Phillips, both of whom had 2 full seasons of loans at beginning of this season could/should have been with squad this season, either in addition to or maybe taking places of Dragusin and Sarr without loss of much quality particularly as both incoming players are far better all rounders on ball than players they might replace so fit spurs style of play better. Sarr's powerful running and shot are good but everything else is pretty average.
I thought at the beginning of the season that Levy who was in charge then had given up this season on winning anything. We had several serious injuries and although at that time I had high hopes for Simons & Muani, that by sending so many on loan that we were sacrificing this season for the future. Yes the likes of Moore, Devine, Phillips & Vuskovic would develop better on loan than staying and only getting the odd appearance but we were taking too big a chance. Other clubs seem to have youth players that can step up but our best ones were on loan. It has backfired and even keeping Scarlett in January would have been better for us.

I like him but has he got the ambition?

Part of the reason to send the youngsters out on loan is to answer those questions - and a complete answer is not given in the 6 month loans which Irow or Akhamrich have had - although both seem to have impressed on loan and that probably means other clubs in both L1, maybe Championship and overseas clubs in leagues such as Netherlands, Belgium, Portugal et al might be happy to take them for 2026/27

Players who have been successful on loan and played for a minimum of 1 year, and preferably longer such as Lankshear, Devine, Phillips, Vuskovic, Moore have probably shown enough that clubs from PL downwards will have these players as 'possible ' to include in a 26/27 squad. Those who have lost a proportion of their loan time through injury might still be attractive but to clubs in lower leagues as they've had less experience.

Andy Devine on loan this season at Championship Preston (not including domestic cup matches)

45 - Matches (including 36 starts) , playing 3,122 minutes

8 Goals (2nd highest scorer at Preston)
7 Assists
4 Yellow cards, no red cards

He also puts in a defensive shift tracking back, less reliable stats are 119 defensive contributions including tackles, interceptions and clearances. Not a man afraid to put his foot in if required. Decent set piece taker. Key man for Preston this season

I hope Preston cannot afford him so that De Zerbi can properly assess him in the summer.
