Player Lucas Bergvall

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

He's a young inconsistent player that is quite overrated by some of our fanbase.

I like him a lot and I think he will get better and better but he wouldn't be a starter for most of the top half premier league teams.

It just shows how unbelievably shit the rest of the squad have been that he won player of the year last season and is still seen by some as one of the best players at our club.

If it's true that chelsea and villa are willing to pay 40mil for him I'd let him go. Might be better in the champo but looks a bit lost in the PL.

He’s excellent, but he’s also 19 with very little experience.

Like Grey, When he’s 24, he will be a top player, but he needs time to learn and develop his game. This should be done in relegation scraps, killing his confidence.

I think people doubting him might be forgetting how good he was last season - "overrated" 18 year olds don't get player of the season for no reason, even in bad teams.

The doubting all stems from this season where he's played about 90% of his minutes either as a 10 or out wide and also been injured. It's not a coincidence he's looked bad as we've completely mis-used him.

Weird to say but I think the Championship would be good for him and Gray's development as we could far more comfortably play them in their best positions week-in week-out. I don't think either are there yet to be reliable PL-level midfielders (which is part of the reason we're in this mess) but a year of consistent game time in the middle would help them a lot.

Agreed on Berg, but skeptical he'll want to be there, especially given it looked like Chelsea were keen on him in January.

Gray will be a goner. He left his boyhood club, dad and grandad played there, went to games as a fan, to get PL football, so I don't see why he wouldn't want to leave us. He's already proven himself down there. He's proving himself in the PL, he's not going down there. Hopefully just a loan to Leeds if he does want away, but I really don't see him being with us next season as a reality.

If we're letting go of the high earners AND the promising kids when we go down we might as well just fold the club.

Doesnt matter if they want to leave - some decent players will need to stay and tbh Gray is about as obvious a candidate as they come: young, long contract, low wages relative to top earners and tbh not actually good enough to be a regular starter at a decent PL club in his best position.

Leeds went down and Gnonto, who was a v.hyped kid with 13 Italy caps, threw a strop. They made him stay and he settled down and played 2 seasons for them in the Champ. We need to do the same with our young talents.

Good player but good as an 8.

Fuck knows why they have tried to move him to 10 when we have Xavi and Gallagher for 10.

Utterly bizarre frankly.

His main skillset is Dembele lite. Recieve the ball, hold other players off, drive forward into space moving the ball from deep into the forward areas. So retaining possession and moving it.

He isn’t a fucking 10. Why Frank thought that I don’t know but I assume De Zerbi will catch on quick.

Seriously, what has he done in 2 seasons in the PL to make you think he's worth more than 40m. One PL goal and 3 PL assists in 46 games. This is a clear case of overvaluation of our players.

He would be wanted by multiple clubs if he wasn’t very good.

He skillset isn’t goals it’s similar to Dembele in the 8, recieving the ball under pressure, dribbling and driving through from deep position. He isn’t a 10.

He's gone if we get relegated. Chavs and Villa tried to buy him for 40m in Jan. He will be sold day one of the window if a team makes a similar bid.
We’re not going to sell everyone. Gelling a whole new team together in the championship would be the worst thing we could do. Tell him he’s staying, he’s not going to make a fuss and go on strike, he’s still got to fully break out as a player.
