Player Lucas Bergvall

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I think it just made Vicario look weak. Romero made a far bigger fuck up and he said nothing. Weak mentality.

I don’t mind goalies getting angry but don’t be a coward.

It doesn’t help that the perception of this team and of this club is weak mentality footballers. We fold under pressure. Can give it to an 18 year old, can’t give it to a senior defender.

Sorry but really don’t get where you are coming from.

Young players hear about it when they make mistakes. Always have and always will.

Ffs we need to be less precious about Bergvall getting the Vic treatment. People want him to be a starter in the Premier League at the age of 18 but gone all crying and worrying he will get hurt emotionally like a age of 8. This is a professional contact sport at the highest level. Are we going to report those who went in hard on him in a tackle for abuse and voluntarily hurt? Good grief.

I guess that's the kind of shit a pro footballer will have to endure. But still, what Vicario did was fucking pathetic and made me lose a lot of respect for the guy - Bergvall's feelings aside.

As someone else said: It was a sign of how weak we are. Giving the new guy shit, and blame, instead of protecting and building him up, is simply poor man management. And the fact that Vicario seemed to say nothing at all when Romero gave away the first goal with his total lack of awareness, and then goes ballistic at Bergvall just makes Vicario look like a coward. And like he does not understand the game or the game plans. It seems like Vicario is screaming that Bergvall should clear the ball out, but that is not how he has been instructed to play. Bergvall is put in a shit situation as Romero offers no help at all at that moment (looked as though Romero switched off after the Vardy goal), and at that time we've been playing with an injured, limping Porro for about 5 mins without subing him (which is a huge mistake by Ange).

Yeah, Bergvall probably needs to be able to endure shit like that. It's still shit though, and pathetic by Vicario.

I wasn’t say he couldn’t say anything, I was saying Romero made a bigger error and he said fuck all. Elite goalies like Schmeichel will tell anyone off, even Pickford will tell Kane off if he has to for England.

From my memory of watching the game, he got the ball and had an opportunity to pass to a nearby spurs player.
Instead he tried to beat two players and lost out.
And then Vic had to do that diving save to his left.

That's why Vic was upset....he's saying "Why didn't you pass the ball when you had the chance? ...

I’ve seen Romero go at every member of the team.

He went at Bergvall this time, so what? Welcome to the sharp end kid.

And we got to see Bergvalls response which was elite. He played even better and with more confidence. Forget young player, he’s just a player full stop.

I mean Vicario. Romero was shit yesterday, Vicario should have aimed his biggest verbal at him.

He misjudged the situation as young players will do but at least it happened taking risks.

Vicario's reaction was over the top. Its the kids first game and he looked devastated by Vicario's going off like a pork chop. Imagine the team mates going off at Vicarios limp-wristed corner efforts and the effect it would have had on his confidence.

God I lost my shit when he did that last night, that’s one of those opportunities which doesn’t come up on stats or xg or anything but it should really be a goal if he gets his touch right.
Yeah it's not good enough.. even at worst case he gets a shot off and it gets blocked goes out for corner but you maintaining the pressure late in a game.

It's these moments that are fucking us time and again.

Looked Devastated ? Did he fuck! He was fine.

I thought he looked fantastic, very much an "all action midfielder", to borrow a phrase from our player search.
Also, getting bollocked by your keeper is as much a part of football as the offside rule. He'll get over it.
Why did he get nollocked yet Sticky Vicky never bollocks Romero or Porro or Bentacur??

To me it seems Sonny is trying too hard to perform and it’s probably why he’s a be patchy. I feel when he had Kane in the team the pressure was off him. Right now he’s playing like a player loaded with pressure, we all know how nice a guy he is and how much he loves the club. I feel we need to stick by him, you don’t suddenly loose ur quality after u hit 30. He will have a game where he hits his form, probably/hopfully when Solanke starts scoring. He’s the captain, our most senior player, he’s clearly feeling the pressure.

Does he not bollock Porro or Bentancur? I can't say I've noticed that specifically.
Romero is a vice captain, it's a hierarchy thing.
It's not. Schmeichel would give Keane or Bruce or Neville hell. Goram would give Gough it tough.

You either give everyone hell or no one hell. Much like his save from the header last night, I can't help feel it was all for show

I think he got pissed about it as you could see what was going to happen with him dribbling it back towards our goal.

The Vardy header was over quickly whereas Vicario was probably witnessing the whole cock up unfold as of in slow motion.

Yeah exactly, what happened in the heat of the match would have soon blown over.

It’s not as if they’ll be stewing on that one incident all week…………. like some of TFC will be! 😁

Irony being that Bergvall is the type to be more offended by the people who think he’s soft enough to be upset by than anything Vicario did.

Imagine him thinking that people believe be needs special protection from the pressure of the veterans on his team? The type of competitor he is would fucking hate that.

Before the season ends Bergvall will be holding his teammates accountable and running the show.
