Who remembers that Swedish bloke told us we had our pants pulled down that Lucas was only in the squad because his looks and that Scott Canham should have been playing.....those were fun times.
Think so many are forgetting how good he was in 2H of last season. Perhaps our best player. Still room to learn and grow. But he has such high potential.
Certainly not back up to standard he had set before injury in 2nd half of last season.
Could take a couple of matches to do that - and preseason is an ideal time for that
Only pre season so no point judging but he’s not looking himself in this system at all.
Bit concerned that Frank will start Bentancur over him most weeks.
Hes much more suited to one of the 8’s in a 4-3-3 than the 10 in a 4-2-3-1. Tbh he’s even better as one of the 6’s than the 10 but he’s not really played there at all

I agree- Bergvall is probably our best 6 as well as best 8 already. People are being slow to realize just how ridiculous a player he is already. I think he can be a Rodri level 6 if he wants to be- just a question of preference, mentality, and actualization. I say let him learn all the CM positions- I think he can genuinely excel in any of them- especially the 6 and 8.

I think all our players are wildly over rated. We’ve got some of the most deluded fans in football. I don’t know why, when I was growing up we were known for being a very critical fan base, very hard to please. People thought anyone that wasn’t Gazza or Hoddle skill level was a donkey. That was the standard.
Now any joker who does even the simplest skill gets our fan base creaming themselves as though they are elite level.
It’s fucking mental.
Goes both ways, though.
We have folks who decide to take the exact opposite approach and claim anyone who misplaces a pass in the 27th minute as a waster who mugged us off.
And both sides feed off each other.
