Player Lucas Bergvall

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Think he’ll be the biggest beneficiary of not getting MGW, he can develop into that type of high work rate player who makes impacts at both end of the pitch. Only 19!

Grew and grew into the game yesterday. You can see the raw materials of an extremely good midfield all rounder.

He'll have brilliant games and he'll have poor games, still a season of growth for him.

But I back him to have more good than bad.

has to be starting for us, especially in games like that when we need someone in the middle with a bit of quality going forward.

hes still raw, but the talent is clear to see, he already has good ability. good player, only going to get better too.

Maybe our most important player this season, if he isn’t a big time performer I think we’ll have a gap in the squad of a creative, ball progressing #8. Think you’ve just gotta trust him and play him week in week out, even if there’s a few bobbles.

He should play in games that we're expected to be on the front foot. Has way more threat than a midfield of Palhinha + Sarr.

Palhinha + Sarr + Bentancur = Ultra Defensive
Palhinha + Bergvall + Sarr = Defensive
Palhinha + Bergvall + Simons = Looks decent in games that we want to be very open and go toe to toe with the opposition
Bentancur + Bergvall + Simons = Probably our best combo when we want to hold the ball and have a lot of posession
Sarr + Bergvall + Simons = Ultra Offensive

It's gonna be Sarr and Bergvall plus one of Bentancur and Palhinha moving forward if we didn't make a no. 10 signing. Bentancur and Palhinha together are too risk averse and we will be stuck in our half playing balls to Romero and Vicario.

Bergvall is our best midfielder under an opposition press. Hopefully him and Simons will enable us to deal better with any team that likes to do that.

At least he tries to go forwards. We only had him and Kudus trying to create anything and the rest were happy to be sideways passers and let other players take the risks.

You can get away with 3 or 4 passive players in a side but not 9.

From my East Stand vantage point yesterday I felt Luke Skywalker had three opportunities to shoot, during the left to right dribble across the central edge of the 18 yard box, before he opted to play a simple pass to the wing which was spaffed when the cross came in.

Really wound me up tbh.

I was simmering nicely from the variety of misplaced passes and poor first touches from the supporting cast of deadbeats but this incident tipped me over.
