Spurs put the belt to Dortmund, if you’ll remember. That same Dortmund who had lost something like 1 match in the league in the last calendar year prior to their defeat to Bayern.

I don’t think it’s an outlandish proposal that an 18 year old CB come back to his parent club to feature prominently in a 46 game league schedule. The Championship isn’t that far off the majority of the Bundesliga.
 
This lad is going to start for Croatia in the World Cup and will be a star... he is not coming back to play in the fucking Championship. Even if we don't go down I'd imagine he'll have offers from teams playing regular Champions League football. His contract means fuck all other than we can command a decent fee for his services which is exactly what we will do when we get 80m lobbed our way.

He ain't going to associate himself with us even if we stay up. He's a world class player who is going to ball at the world cup. Someone will bid 80m and he's off. Why would one of the best defenders in world football waste a season or two with us. He is going to cash in whilst his stock is high. And so are we.

100%. Contracts in modern football don't mean shit. If a player wants to leave, they're going to get their way 90% of the time. One poster said it'd be a good thing for Vuskovic to play in the Championship, another saying the Bundesliga is the same standard. It's wild. I don't understand why people can't be somewhat objective.
 
I'd imagine he would be doing whatever he could to try and force a move in the summer - he's not even been here yet other than a couple of photos ops in the summer so he's got no connection to the club and in his year away has made a big name for himself - he's not coming back to this shitshow without a fight

That loan was such a braindead decision for us, as you say kid has no affinity to this club whatsoever right now, he's getting tons of hype, and apparently his family feel as though they can dictate that he'll do the same next year too...

Meanwhile we've regularly got Danso and Dragusin lumbering about trying to cover for that idiot Romero, and are often trotting Palhinha out at cb too.

Not to mention, I'm sure the club felt they were being clever and pulling a Saliba with him still becoming HG club trained, but I'll bet we get stitched up on that front too if he's even here 2 years from now.

If someone offers 80m then great. It's much more important that we upgrade our attack and midfield than it is to keep a highly rated young CB.

He's played 20 games in Germany and 28 games in Belgium.

Calling him world class, one of the best defenders in the world and worth 80m is madness. We saw the same hype around De Ligt, Sakho, Mangala, Upamecano, Nastatic.

People are quick to call him a goal scoring defender, but he has scored less goals (4) than both of our CBs VDV (7) and Romero (6) this season.

I agree, he looks like a decent young player, but he's just turned 19 and is likely nowhere near ready to play 5000+ minutes in a season across Premier League and European / cup competitions.

I'll mark this post and we will talk after the world cup. He has made it very clear he wants to stay in Germany and players have all the power because they can just withdraw their services until they get their wish. The only remote chance we have of keeping him is if we stay up and he believes the club are genuine about winning.
