Player Luka Vuskovic

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Liverpool just spent €70m on an 18 year old from France. Vuskovic is rather higher than him. Not that outlandish.

It’s not I just don’t accept the club is a charity that will sell its long term assets on the cheap to make players happy.

Romero, VDV, Dragusin, Porro and Udogie are £150m minimum of sales. After that we won’t need cash, if someone wants him they will have to pay his price and a truly generational defender and arguably the best player we have on our books won’t be going less than a huge £90-110m type fee and very few clubs can afford that for a young CB. He is also crazy young and we have taken real care with him with loans to Belgium and Germany, time is massively on his side hence he will either be plying for us next season or Bayern will buy him for some crazy plus £100m fee.

It's 2026. If an acceptable comes in and he's asked to leave, he's gone. He has no ties to here, and if you were a pro and the likes of Bayern and Barca are after you, after your club finished 17th, more than likely relegated in 2 years, it's a very easy decision to make.

It might but again he won’t go if the £100m isn’t there. They have to pay and if they don’t he stays.

Relegation will cost us £250m in year 1. Expect a fire sale.

The £250m number quoted included the £70m of CL money which we won’t get next season even if we stay in the prem and doesn’t take into account the 50% wage cuts that will activate should we be relegated. It’s won’t be remotely £250m.
Have we actually got anything solid to suggest that there are relegation clauses in any of our players contracts?
Only, I wouldn't put it past our great leaders to just ignore that as ever being a possibility, so omit any such detail in a deal.

This is the club that had to give Doherty away because they didn't know the loan rules FFS!

Ornstein who is about as reliable as they come said our contracts have 50% wage reduction should we be relegated that is his tweet, I think he was also reported somewhere as saying no release clause either so everything in our favour. Levy at his best.

Contracts mean the club will have the power which is typical Levy.

He's 20 but your point is valid. He's played 30 odd games for Rennes and is worth 60m. Lenny Yorro another example. Vuskovic is a different level to these two and can see City, Real or Bayern putting 85m on the table and our board will see it as excellent player trading profit.

Don't think the club will need to offload him, he's on low wages and I don't think a year potentially excelling in the Championship at 19 years old would tank his value, imagine the same sort of figures would be touted the summer after. Sort of depends on whether he pushes for the move. I'm sure Lange or whoever it is will make whatever the least beneficial decision for the club is.

They probably don't but he will certainly want to offload us. But I guarantee you now, he won't play a single minute in the Championship next season.

Ah, nice and I hadn't seen that so cheers. 👍

I think all our players assume that they are all going to be allowed to leave cheaply if we are relegated, I just don't see it.

Yeah - we're obviously gonna sell VdV and Romero if we go down. Hell - I'd actually want them to leave as I think we need a cultural reset if we're in the Championship. Last thing we want is a bunch of moody prima donnas annoyed at the club and resentful of the situation - especially in leadership roles. Add in a few others and we can comfortably raise 150m+ (which is more than a lot of poorer teams have raised when getting relegated).

Dragusin also needs to go so that basically just leaves us with Danso and a bunch of kids like Takai and Phillips. That's really not a great set of CB options, even by Championship standards.

I think keeping Vuskovic is absolutely key to our hopes of getting promoted again tbh. If he's the best young defender in the Bundesliga and winning record-breaking numbers of aerial duels, he'd absolutely boss the Championship, and barring a career-ruining injury he'd still be worth like 80-100m or whatever a year later (still with 3 years left on his contract).

Get a good manager in and sell him a dream - tell him he's gonna be the symbol of our resurgence and a club legend. That the club needs him. Offer him a new contract on big wages with a clause that lets him leave in a couple of years if he wants - like Eze at Palace or Semenyo at City. Fuck it - if he's got the character then give the lad the fucking captaincy. We seriously need leaders and he's already a leader at Hamburg (although obviously it would go to someone like Maddison if he stays).

Unless we get offered absolutely silly money - literally record breaking CB fee cash - I'd keep him. And tbh even then I'd be tempted to gamble and keep him for a season as not getting promoted would cost us a lot more than the Vuskovic money anyway.

Personally I don't think any club will come in with that type of money. The PL clubs can get better value for young players abroad and I just can't see Bayern spending Kane-level money on a teenage centre back. Much more likely they bide their time and wait for him to wind down his contract so they can get him cheaper. That's usually the Bayern (and Madrid) way.

This is the thing we keep sending these lads out on loan never given them even a sniff if first team football. All the while buying crap over priced players. How many would rather have Vusco than say drag.
