Player Luka Vuskovic

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

This ownership takes joy in crushing our hope. If the player doesnt want to play in the PL, contract or not you cannot force it. His agent will tell him to stay in Germany and I doubt very much we will hold him hostage for 3 years. I think its perfectly reasonable to consider he will not play for us with every major club circling. Do you think this club would turn down 65m with 20% sell on for him. I doubt it.
Plus if we all just consider the worst case scenario anything better will be like a bonus.
He’ll be in out team next season. Every single manager out there will know about him and whoever our new manager willl be will have him in the team. I’ll bet with you just now he is in our starting line up come the first game if next season.

Yep ok... through his agent he has already indicated that hes staying in Germany next season so you pretty much lost this one.

On another note, when has any manager under ENIC got what they wanted???

I hope we do but this ownership have cashed in on anything we've had thats been remotely good. Berbatov, Bale, Modric, Kane... maybe they would turn down 65. But there is a number and they always think of profit before glory.
My maths might be off, but is it possible (age/career-wise) that ALL FOUR could've played for us at the same time had we kept them all...?
Maybe Berbatov was on the wane by then....
'Cos with our defence of Toby/Jan etc and Dembele in the middle, that would've been one HELL of a team!!!

Fucking hell, imagine THAT lot up top?!

But that'll only be because VDV and/or Romero won't be at the club by then!

I’ll let you into a secret, the player or the agent don’t get to decide and show me where you have read that Vuskovic has told his agent that he’s staying in Germany.
I’m pretty sure the player would rather play in the premier league than for a struggling Bundesliga side or even Bundesliga 1 side.

I'll let you into a secret... players and their agents have all the power... all contracts are useful for in ensuring you get a fee.

Watching Vuskovic develop over multiple loans in different countries makes you wonder is the contrast between him and the rest of our loans in recent seasons down to finally picking good locations.

Or does it show that a very good player will prosper in different environments and that a lot of our loanees just aren't good enough.

Feel it's a bit of column A and column B

He was wanted by Man City, Real Madrid and Barca. He was just seen as an incredible talent, its unlikely there is any defender in the U.K. under 20 with his ability levels so it is just us poaching a player that normally would be coming on for Barca.

Obviously we seem to have managed him well but you need the extreame talent in the first place. Bergvall is another whose talent is well beyond normal for his age but Vuskovic might be just that extra level.

Lothar Matthäus is astonished by Tottenham defender Luka Vuskovic

Although Lothar Matthäus played as a defensive midfielder for most of his career, he transformed into a world-class sweeper in his 30s, winning plaudits for the way he read the game.

The 64-year-old, who won 150 caps for West Germany and Germany combined, has now admitted that Vuskovic is doing things at 18 years of age that he could not do even in the latter stages of his career.

Matthäus said about the Tottenham youngster to Sky Sports Germany: “At the age of 18, he plays as if he had already played three World Cups.
“Even when I was 30, I didn’t see what he saw at 18. This player is so intelligent.”

Vincent Kompany claims Tottenham have a ‘big talent’ on their hands

Speaking ahead of Bayern Munich’s 2-2 draw against Hamburg on Saturday, the Bayern Munich head coach showered praise on Vuskovic.

He admitted that it is difficult for young centre-backs to make an impression in the German top-flight, describing the experience the teenager is gaining at Hamburg as ‘ideal’.

Kompany said (via Bavarian Football Works) about Vuskovic: “He’s a big talent. The Bundesliga is a very difficult league to develop as a young centre-back. You need to be physically strong.

“Having an important role at HSV is ideal. He needs to listen well to his good coach there. He doesn’t need to do much more.”

Upamecano has so far rejected Bayern’s offer of an extension. They will definitely be buying a CB in summer.
Reading their fan pages, they’re seeming to be hanging on to the fact that Vuskovic may have said something about deciding his future after the World Cup. I presume that to mean continue with a loan or go to Spurs. Bayern fans seem to think it means sign for them.

His agent will be having fun this summer. The world is at this lad's feet.

Contract with us is up in 2030 and we need to do everything we can to ensure his long-term future with us as everyone is going to be trying to turn his head in the summer.

I mean all we gotta do is tell everyone to fuck off
