People always talk about resting players but the way you rest players is to start them and bring them off when you've won the game, it's just ass backwards to not start your key players if you're trying to rest them because it just sends out all kinds of the wrong messages to your own players and the opposition, for example imaging them seeing us line up with Emerson and Skipp in our starting lineup as opposed to Porro and Maddison, imagine the kind of boost they'd get and at the same time how much of a downer it puts on our players - It's exactly the same logic when we used to rest Kane for cup games and bring him on when we are chasing the game.
What we should be doing is making tactical changes so rather than 'rest' Son for this I'd play Richy because Son won't have any space to play in whilst Richy can occupy their CB's and win loads of fouls, apart from that there is literally no other need to rest any player - they have been resting all fucking week, that is the entire point of having the advantage of playing 1 game a week!
