What, by holding a grudge against fellow Sportsmen by refusing to shake their hands, based purely on where they were born?

I thought that was called prejudice?!
Without doing any research whatsoever, I imagine he is making a statement against the state of Israel rather than the individuals representing Haifa. If more individuals were willing to draw attention to the plight of Palestinians with such gestures we might not be in the horrific situation we find ourselves in now.

He could have said nothing and his life would have been easier, I'm sure, but he chose to sacrifice his own comfort and use a sporting moment to raise awareness of state aggression (assuming, and it's a very delicate assumption, that was his intention) - given European civilians knew even less of the situation then than they do now, I'm sure he was aware that there would be a backlash to his actions (particularly being a professional footballer in Europe)

I doubt he gave it as much thought and consideration as you have...

That might be fair enough - but without a protest about Hamas as well it's not sincere.
On the football side- he is better than some of our front three

Skipp, Wink, Carrol, Mason, Bentalob, Huddlestone Livermore and some others I have forgotten - all did nothing in the championship
Skipp and Winks were both excellent in the Championship, so was Huddlestone at Derby. Livermore barely played there did he? ... weren't West Brom in the premier league when he was there? ... and I don't think Bentaleb ever played in the Championship, where would that have been?

No goals and assists - no one other teams wanted them.
Soloman would fetch a fee.

The above payers were rated ( hyped) by our fans - not by anyone else.
