Player Mathys Tel

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

How can you conclude this from just one game.....and in the one game he plays...he scores..... :andros:
Some Brennan Johnson level analysis right there.

"But look, Brennan scored, how can he have had a bad game?"

Yeh getting one goal at the death when the game is dead doesn't make up for 90 minutes of misplaced passes and running down blind avenues.

Now it's received wisdom BJ isn't up to the mark.

Tel tonight was shit. Goal or no goal.

You'd think some of you might have learned by now. A goal seems to melt your brains.

yep spot on. odobert looks a better player, cleaner on the ball, can use both feet.

few spots earlier where tel has an easy pass that he can make (which is the correct use of the ball in the situation hes in) he doesnt pass it and ends up just wasting possession. mind you, could say that about a lot of them at the moment, its toilet football.
This is the one thing giving me pause. With a manager this bad, it feels harsh to judge the players. I honestly think we could buy prime Ronaldinho and within a week he'd look washed. That's what happens when you send players out with no tactics.

That said, Tel simply doesn't look a great fit for this style of football. There's a reason Kompany wanted rid at all costs.

Nothing wrong with him as a player... But a 50 mil player...hmmm.. I'm gonna need more from him than what I saw today.. but who knows, a goal on full debut will do his confidence no harm and he's certainly got pace. So we live in hope.

One shit performance does not maketh a shit player. And sure, a goal does not undermine a weak performance. But christ alive...one game is not enough time to judge a player. Let the lad have a chance to settle in before you start making out anyone defending the guy has lost their marbles!

Give him a few more games : hopefully he’ll fall in love with a girl from Enfield …
Nailing a French model/pageant queen.

Can't see Miriam from Churchbury Lane turning his head.

Indira Ampiot - Mathys Tel (Tottenham)

In a shock U-turn on deadline day, Mathys Tel finally agreed to join Tottenham on loan from Bayern Munich, where he lacked playing time due to the fierce competition in the Bundesliga side's attacking line.

The 19-year-old forward - who reportedly was also negotiating with Manchester United and Woolwich - did not come alone to London and brought Miss Universe 2024 top-30 contender Indira Ampiot with him.

She is one of the most famous models in France, gaining recognition after winning the national prize in 2023.

Rumours about Ampiot's relationship with the Spurs newcomer emerged at the end of 2024 amid reports from Germany that she was spotted attending Bayern's games and sharing Instagram Stories of the pair.

Earlier, it was understood that the model wanted to pursue Communication Studies in Paris. However, these plans have probably changed since Tel's departure to Tottenham.

Ampiot is also clearly interested in fashion and tourism, sharing pictures on her Instagram page with 435,000 followers.

I thought he gave absolutely everything yesterday. Probably trying to hard and and got caught a few times but never stopped. His finish is brilliant as that’s such a hard finish. I really hope we can improve and be in a position to keep this kid.
I want to see him and Odobert as our wide players because they want to take on players and link with other players. I’m fed up watching Sonny and Johnson be negative all the time.

Following the game, all of Gary Lineker, Alan Shearer and Micah Richards praised the young striker on ‘The Rest Is Football’ podcast, impressed by what they saw from Tel on his first start.

Lineker began: “The other new man, I just want to mention, we’ve flipped back to Spurs briefly.

“I thought Tell showed a couple of nice bits. And that was an exquisite finish.”

Shearer replied: “Yeah, but that’s what I mean about, you don’t have to get to the byline all the time.

“You can put crosses in, you know, and that was a great cross that Kulusevski put in. And he did really well, Tell, to get on the end of it.

“And it was a really clever finish. So hopefully that’ll give him a bit of confidence and belief that he sort of belongs there and he can help Spurs get through this period.”

Richards added: “He’s got that quality though, hasn’t he? He’s got that quality. He’s still only young, he’s still learning, but I totally agree with Alan on that point.

“Good little movement and just finished off. Just give him a little bit of confidence as well, because like you said earlier on, Son is not really playing with the confidence we’ve seen of old, even in just taking so many touches.”

Was a very Lineker esque finish now that I think of it.

Thought he was turd but fair play, nice finish.

Will be a hard stint to judge here as we are so dysfunctional but does have some obvious qualities.
