Kanye or nay?

It was a nice post and I agree with 99% said.
Though one thing that to me has stood out about him is his close control. How he just "kills" the ball so quickly and is ready to move on.
We plonder around too much. Too many touches, holding on to ball for too long, etc. If we instruct him to move the ball on quickly, it creates lot more stress to opposite defenders. Also he seems to be able to squeeze in good crosses into GK box. Something that in this season only Porro and Moore have been able to do for us. So when Solanke is back, I think he will benefit from it.

But only thing I don't agree with is the part in bold.
"hasn't set world alight" - meaning as 19 yo kid scoring or assisting with 107 minutes on the pitch? And it also includes scoring and assisting in CL.
I mean we have to consider the context for a second - he has been fighting for playing time with likes of Harry Kane, Jamal Musiala, Thomas Müller, Leroy Sane, Serge Gnabry, Kingsley Coman, Michael Olise. All of them vastly more experienced than him.
And this "for 70 mil you could buy Kvara who is the proven article" - so very untrue. First of all - you could not. Tottenham Hotspur cannot. PSG can, and few others as well. I am fully sure we could have offered 90 mil for him, he would have picked PSG offer of 70 mil. I mean guaranteed Ligue 1 win vs fighting for 15th place? Then 2nd MASSIVE aspect is salary. Offering both 5 year contract - I am pretty sure that for upcoming talent like Tel, this is 100 kpw we are talking about. So 5,2 mil per season. 26 mil across contract. With Kvara we are talking at least 3x that. So 72 mil for the same period. So - in short - not really attainable, and overall twice as expensive, not "for same".
Not to mention that proven Kvara is 24 in few days (4,5 years older)... and in all fairness has been poorer this season compared to last. Which was in turn poorer than season before.

To me this deal reminds much more Alexander Isak one.
Sure, Isak was ~23 and bit more proven. But for striker his 45 goals on top level is not at all more impressive than having 16 goals at 19yo.
In fact as 20 yo, Isak had just recently been sold from Dortmund to Sociedad for 15 mil. Having only scored 1 and assisted 1 within just 281 minutes he earned for Dortmund. So in that sense Tel is way further in his developement than Isak was at this point too.
3 years later Newcastle swooped in with 70 mil transfer.
2,5 more years later, this 70 mil sounds like an absolute bargain.
Good post, agree with pretty much all of it.

The hype was built from last season, where he often made an impact when he did start or was brought off the bench. This season he's been dog shit and made no impact when he did get a chance to do so.

I think he could be a good signing and aren't saying he's not a talent. Just think people need to calm down with the accolades a bit as he's a million miles away from being the finished article.
The hype was around him just before he made the move to Bayern. He was/is extremely highly regarded in France. He's often mentioned on the same breath as Zaire-Emery, Camavinga and Barcola.

^^^ .........You know this a muddled, illogical mess, yeh?

120m for Guehi?

We haven't "wasted" a single penny on Tel.... He's a loan and if we don't like him we just give him back.

Meanwhile; the moment we knew we had a problem with Dragusin we made sure we signed another CB.

...And pretending we don't have the following list of attacking injuries is ridiculous:

Solanke
Odobert
Werner
Johnson
+ Richy's body turning to dust in front of our eyes.
+ Son struggling to sustain a 90min performance (let alone twice a week)

We haven't "wasted" a single penny on Tel.... He's a loan and if we don't like him we just give him back.

So we ain't paying him, or Munich anything?

120m for Guehi?

Where did i say offering 120mil for Guehi?

You know this a muddled, illogical mess

Yes, I agree, you have written a right load of guff.

No-one comes for free.... But "waste"? Nah... The only way that's true if he proves to be shit.

You said you wanted us to spend north or 70m with the "Tel money"......?

How high is high enough?

Did he not already agree a contract with us if the option is exercised? It looked as if he already has signed with us- should we exercise the option…

The way I see it is that the player will be free to return to Munich and either remain at the club, or accept offers from other clubs.

From what I understand Munich accepted a transfer fee, but we were not an acceptable destination for a permanent transfer by the player.

Woolwich and United did not want to pay a loan fee with no obligation, and I don't blame them. Putting Tel in the shop window only for another club to buy is a waste of money.

I don’t even care if we blow 5-10m in a fee for a Tel we don’t sign- at least we showed some frigging ambition here!

Using some or all of the Tel loan loan fee.

The initial offer was 55 million with ad on's no, taking the number up to 70m?

Levy could have upped the offer, and still been no worse off no?

Tel will never move to us, didn't want us up until United and Woolwich pulled out of the deal.

For a club led by a prudent Chairman, giving away (according to what I have read) five million (312K a week) on a player with no return whatsoever is indeed blowing money away.

Secondly, when he turned us down, we should have understood that he simply didn't want to come. We should have looked at a CB which is more important than adding another winger.

I am all for ambition, but the Tel deal is plain stupidity, especially for a club run tighter than a nuns fanny.

What concerns me, is how many of those goals are late in games that are already well and truly over.
We need players to score openers and equalizers far more than padding stats.

Let's hope it's just because that's the only time Bayern put him on and not because he's only effective against tired, demoralized legs.
That is because in the 83 games in all comps that he played for Bayern, he only started 18 games. Hard to score early when you are still on the bench. Lets not forget he is only 19, at the same age, Kane was on his failed Leicester loan.

You're tying yourself up in knots over a few million then. Palace wouldn't have suddenly crumbled without a far more significant hike......

You've no idea whether it was a case of Guehi or Tel anyway.

Tel will never move to us.

You've absolutely no idea about that either; which is beside the above point anyway.

Point is as long as Tel contributes; his LOAN won't have been a "waste" of money.

didn't want us up until United and Woolwich pulled out of the deal.

That's a rather skewed way of looking at it but; ok...... He's here now and no-one forced him to come.
