Ex-Spurs Player Matt Doherty

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Our Season is finished…

What a mess we got ourselves into.

The management and transfer team need to know that in football, 1+1 is not equal to 2. A team is not built on the accumulative quality but the bonding, chemistry and familiarity of tactics of the team!

By offloading Matt to make room for a new player, this is just messing up the camaraderie, teamwork, friendship, chemistry that had been built painstakingly over the years!

Not to say we can’t do that. Of course, players come and go. But… to do it in this manner, last minutes decision (loan to mutual termination) just smack of disregard of what makes a team work and I am pretty sure the other players remaining in the team won’t be happy about it

so who was the brillant guy who just gave away £10m (by ending Doc's contact)
to make up that £10m will by the profit we make on 7/8 of our other studium events Madness

To play devils advocate out of all the players that we have on international loan I believe he’s the one with the least amount of sell on potential.

Now you could make an argument that we shouldn’t have sent him on loan to begin with, but let’s not pretend that he was setting the world on fire. Even if he stayed one of our RWB would’ve been sold in the summer, and Doc again would be the hardest to move. I suspect clubs that would take him wouldn’t be ones he’s interested in joining.

My biggest issue is just how this went down. If we’re going to cut his contract then fine do it. It’s something we should’ve done to other players that we’ve just dragged along for years now. But how we went about this just made up look absolutely inept at running a football club.

For someone who is supposed to be financially astute, Levy really knows how to waste money.
100 million spent on sacking managers and buying punts that do not fit or cancelling contracts on players he cannot shift.
Total twat of an owner 🙄
However Porro on one side and Undogie (sp) on the other should be electric... providing Conte stays or the next manager plays a similar way.

Honestly don’t know why people are in arms over this. We’ve moved on a poor player, who cares whether it was for free or 3M. Immaterial

Root cause is the collection of average 20M players in the first place

Doherty was one if the worst players i have ever seen in a Spurs shirt. The club offload him saving £80k a week in wages and replace him with a top quality player and we are still not happy.

What the fuck has happened to our fanbase.

So essentially all of that haggling over a few mill with Sporting has been completely undone by this cockup of terminating his contract. Ridiculous.

Doherty might not have fit Contes system but he wasnt the worst player and would do well in a mid table team.
