Ex-Spurs Player Matt Doherty

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Woolwich losers are so mad on twitter. I can’t wait for Doherty to cut Aubameyang in half with a tackle for them to really start screaming.
It's embarrassing, football twitter is an absolute shitshow and I think the main reason is because Woolwich fans are so rife on it.

Also, love how they love chucking out that Doherty, Sissoko and Aurier grew up as scum fans yet conveniently forget that Bergkamp followed Tottenham or you know... C*mpbell.

Also they love the Kane in the gooner shirt photo....haha....haha...ha....h

:memeokay:

Who’s name is...

:kaneear:

They better hope Doherty isn’t even 10% as effective against them as Harry has been

Has a lot to say

I know he's got to say all that crap re. joining Spurs, but what a load of crap. No Matt, no you can't play in midfield, or in a back 4 or in a back 3. You are a wing back and Nuno made you. As for the rest of the comments, you're soon forgotten you wee snake

One of the best days of Matts career leaving us.

Bye then Matt. You have peaked and you´ll get destroyed if they gonna play you in a back four.

Grass was greaner after ten seasons.Looking forward to beating Spurs I am.

“Particularly graceless interview, especially the big club bull.

Hope we get in ANM now and embarass the **** out of him.“

Yee...Doh!
Just doesn't shut up

Rubbish fee, rubbish interview, I’m well and truly ****ed off. I would wish Matt good luck after all the things he’s done at Wolves, but reading that interview and given the fee likely means he was being a **** about the opportunity to move, then good ****ing riddance.

One need to consider this was Aurier´s best season (in his whole life as player), while it was Doherty´s worst (still very good). And also, Aurier´s very well known mistakes are not translated in stats.

Compare their previous years, just for context.

COYS
Is that meant to make people feel better? Signing a player who’s nearly 29 and just had his worst season? Would you say Wolves have just offloaded a player on the decline approaching the end of his career and getting a decent fee in a COVID market?

Again people need to chill out about Aurier’s ”mistakes” they are fucking blown out of all proportion it's ridiculous, I mean they really are few and far between now (loads and loads of diving in during his first season, which he’s by and large cut out of his game now). The stats also will not include Doherty’s mistakes too. But trust me Aurier is the better ”defender” of the two players.

I say again to avoid any confusion I LIKE Doherty but anyone expecting a massive upgrade on Aurier is going to be bitterly disappointed.

Seems like a really shrewd signing. I am glad we are signing players who can play straight away instead of bedding them in. We needed a RB and we got a seemingly good one who fits into Mourinho's system. Wolves fans seem upset about it as well.
I don't understand why Wolves would sell him to us for such a low fee but not going to complain.

The player wanted to join Spurs, didn´t you get it? Doherty played for Wolves for a decade. The club was left without a choice.

It´s our second very good signing based on players wanting to move to our club and then facilitating the moves.

It wasn't just his mistakes though. It was also his piss poor crossing. 9 times out of ten you just knew when he crossed from the right he wasn't gonna find anyone. You could see when Kane was in or around the box, Kane was pretty much resigned to the ball not finding him, the look on his face most of the time. He for one will benefit from someone who can actually cross accurately occasionally.

And as Meatloaf said "Two out of three ain't bad"
I´m not bothered about signing Joe Hart - though he is not necessarily a "very good signing". It´s just that in his case there was not a club on the other side.

I´m really impressed with Hojbjerg and Doherty deals. Two Premier League proven players, two signings the manager obviously wanted - 17m spent. That was only possible because both players wanted to move to Spurs.

Yet NO OTHER DEFENDER in the PL has assisted more from crosses in open play than him!!! Go figure that one out.
