Never understood the "hate" for any player in a Spurs shirt, especially if it derived from poor form.My son just reminded me that he had Covid too, that might well have knocked him sideways.
There's always been a player there. And this isn't hindsight, I've never jumped on the hate bandwagon.
I think applies to everyone except sudoku . (Though only time will tell if this isn't a flash in the pan.)
No one hates Doherty as such. People just find him really really shit.Never understood the "hate" for any player in a Spurs shirt, especially if it derived from poor form.
I don't know if it's endemic to Spurs, or if you see this with other teams, but through all my years of following Spurs, there has always been a player, or players, that a large proportion of fans just want to hate.
You might note rate them, which is fair enough, but hate them?
It mystifies me.
would sell emerson before him he could be a good backup if we gett a younger rb inGreat game. Well done, Doc.
Keep him at this standard. Then....
SELL.
I beg to disagree. Some of the vitriol aimed at him on this site, and others, has been disgusting. No one hates Doherty as such. People just find him really really shit.
Ive seen winks , sanchez, aurier, ndombele given some harsh treatment but dont think anyones wished ill on Doherty at all. Maybe its in this thread and ive missed it, but almost everyone just says he is really really shit (which is true).I beg to disagree. Some of the vitriol aimed at him on this site, and others, has been disgusting.
He's not alone either. Winks gets it regularly, Dier has had it, Sanchez still gets it, PEH, Ryan Ressegron (remember that on all you SC exiles?)
I can go back to the likes of Ginger Pele, Spider, Chris Armstrong, John Pratt. All "hated" regardless of how well they did, just because they had a drop off in form, didn't meet the "expectations" of certain fans, whatever.
Like I said, I don't know if it's just us or if this happens at all clubs, but I've never seen a fanbase hate in their own players to the degree that many of ours do.
Maybe someone can put me straight on that, though I have my doubts.
He was always a RWB at Wolves and looked horribly out of sorts playing RB last year.
I thought Conte bringing in a wingback system might benefit him, but he was clearly so lacking confidence it didn't come off at first. Maybe now he's getting his confidence back after a few good performances and will solidify himself in a system that should suit him.
Yes.

It's a jokeIt's okay to criticise players when they perform poorly, you know. Doesn't mean one should apologize when they start playing well a couple games
