Laughing a bit about how overrated Doherty is because of Emersons weakness. Neither are fit for purpose but wait and see Doherty defending against any half decent side will cause us just as many issues as Emerson attacking teams . We really should not have been in this position this season.
 
Just been subbed off after 75 mins . Totally understand why Conte hasn't been playing him . That goatee is totally unacceptable, no excuses for that . He shouldn't even be on the bench until it's gone .
 
I'm in Ireland for a few days and am watching the match. He played well, especially when you consider how little game time he has had this season. He was only subbed off when, understandably, he ran out of steam.

Good news- if Conte continues to keep Spence away from the 1st team (for whatever reason), at least this will give us some more options to try and catch a spark at the RWB position.

I mean, the reason he's not been playing is that he has been injured until recently, right?

Yeah wasn't great ... But he looked every part the,in cricket, it's called nick .. in football out of forms the nearest, but not quite... He looked absolutely fit... But he needs game time... Remember when he joined us he was abso shockin.. Contes fitness regime totally worked for him ... He ,arguably, ended last season one of, if not the stand out performer.. he needs game time.. 8 mins for club this season is just not enough.
 
Shake off the rust and get mistakes out the way in the international games, come back to us nice and sharp.

By "the line" I assume he meant the defensive line (i.e. back 4 or 5).......


This guy still sounds like a dick though as the only reason he's not been playing as he's been injured since April.

Besides, as a senior defender, organising the back line is kinda part of the job.

I thought he meant the coaches, probably me misreading! But I did see him get frustrated before he came off. Maybe it’s to be expected when you haven’t played for ages
