The Davies situation is terrible. What happens when a team from Wales makes Europe and all English players count as foreigners?
It is bizarre. If he was brought through the Airbus FC (or whatever it's called) academy in the Welsh League then I'd just about see the logic in their decision. As it is, it just seems over the top and might fuck over Swansea and Cardiff in the future (would I want to join one of their academies and therefore not be properly 'home grown' to one of the big clubs if they came sniffing around me one day?).

Interesting to see if they apply the same logic to Barcelona academy players, should Catalonia vote for independence. Spoiler: they fucking won't.

Surprised Poch didn't deck him.

If you can hold your nose and tune into that complete tosser Jim White on Talkshite, he's got Nicola Cortese in the studio midday onwards. When at Saints the bloke that fired Pardew (obviously sensible) and then Adkins (obviously insane at the time) and then appointed Poch (who?????).

If Cortese was still at Saints, it's possible that Poch would still be there. Might be interesting. Better if someone could invent an auto-mute that activates every time JW opens his bloody gob.

Totti Totti agreed. Tonight showed me he learned from the Chelsea loss. We let them have possession today and hit them on the counter and it was effective. So glad to see Poch adapt this way

It's also interesting that he waited until he had all of his new signings in to do it. Shows it may have been a more calculated decision than a reaction to Chelsea. I do hope for more similar styles against bigger teams in bigger games. It is an exciting breakthrough on many levels as a fan watching the development, mainly because if Poch is still improving with us, there is only a matter of time before we win something major, and in some style.

He needs to stop trying to fit all of our attacking players on the pitch when the formation doesn't suit it. It is okay to drop Alli for the benefit of a 3-4-3 and to just counter-attack as if the away team at Wembley. Leicester and Chelsea have won the league counter-attacking. They have also had quality attacking options to come off the bench. When it wasn't working at HT, we should have admitted we got done by Swansea and changed the system. Changing the side of the wingers when it is clear the system isn't working reminds me too much of AVB.
