Manager Mauricio Pochettino

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

If he brought Shaw and/or the Llama with him, THAT would represent very good business...
As it is, his first brief will probably be to get the best out of Lamella so that Levy can justify signing him in the first place, and recoup SOME of the £30m when we sell him to Madrid/Barcelona this time next year!!!

This is Levy we are talking about. If we sell Lamela to Madrid/Barcelona, we are not just recouping SOME of the 30m, we are recouping ALL of it, plus some.

It is written buy John Cross the biggest Gooner cunt on this planet. He clearly has one agenda, put the pressure on the new manager and fans. Utter cunt!

I think top 4 is always the target.

However, I think right now just getting some good football on the field and competing for top 4 will suffice.

Levy has been at pains to emphasize the playing style is extremely important.

I think he may have resolved himself to having to entertain while awaiting an opportunity to gate crash the top 4.

Its a 6 into 4 equation, and the other 5 all have huge advantage over us - it will be a case of waiting for an opportunity and slipping in IMO. Might take time.

Totally.

The fans that think along these lines are going to enjoy next season I feel.

I cant wait for the next game....Its been a year since I could say that

I'm optimistic about Poch. I think it's a great appointment.

I'm not gonna hype up the season in my mind like I did last summer.

All I want is a decent cup run, both domestic and Europe, and to finish at least 7th. With some entertaining football thrown in for good measure.

Oh, and Lamela to be found too.

This appointment will work brilliantly for Holtby, Paulinho, Bentaleb and Chadli in midfield as they all press really well.

I also think that Poch's system best suits Harry Kane of the three of our strikers as he presses every thing, is strong in the air but quick thinking and links up play well.

Because of this I want us to steady the ship a little and only sign an experienced left back plus a striker to replace Ade if he leaves.

I'd then like us to see a team like this.

Lloris;
Walker, Vertonghen, Chiriches, Rose(rotating with our new signing);
Sandro, Paulinho;
Lamela, Eriksen, Chadli;
Kane:

We then have an option of Townsend to.be brought on to offer some more direct wing play if needed. We also have Holtby to offer a bit more flair in midfield if needed and Soldado for a completely different style up front.

I would say he needs to achieve top 4 once or win a trophy over a two season period - or he'll be gone.

TBH I'm happy with those objectives, there's no point in pretending we'll be happy finishing 5th or 6th and not winning anything.....
Every manager since Jol (including) has had the same objective - Top 4 (yes, even Timothy)

Pretending Levy would have it any other way is laughable, else we could have kept Tim and chundered along for the fun and games

2 seasons to deliver 'something', I'd guess

Also worth remembering that its you that have put a two year time limit on it.

His contract is 5 years, so hopefully Levy will give him some breathing space to deliver.

No one is denying that Top 4 is our target....but its highly debatable whether its expected this season or next from Levy.

I won't lie and say that I think we shouldn't expect more in the first two or three years, but I just really want to see us back to playing exciting, open, fast-paced football. It was how we played with AVB, winor lose, that droveme crazy.
