Manager Mauricio Pochettino

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

He HAS to play Kane today. If he's not confident in his ability as a lone striker switch it up and put two up top. A clean sheet with two goals to Spurs isn't unrealistic.

So far I'd say overall Poch has been unsatisfactory, poor in the League, quite good in the Cups. Now I'd take 14th in the Lge if we won a trophy this season, but winning a trophy is very hard, even the League Cup. We'll know so much more after our games at Villa and Asteras.

Another poor performance from Poch. What happened to the pressing game, what happened to picking your in form striker from the start, how many games does he need to get the defence playing as a unit.
If it hadn't been for young Kane injecting some passion/urgency into today's game we would of lost for sure.

I guess you are now realising that pochettino isn't all he thinks he is. He has no plan B -when plan A doesn't work he hasn't got a clue what to do.
I disagree. To me Poch is already on Plan D.
Plan A = Bring in players familiar with his style from Soton or Esp. Didn't get the players.
Plan B = Play preferred pressing style with existing players. Didn't work.
Plan C = Play with little pressing but counter attack from a deeper position. Limited success vs Woolwich
Plan D = Play with 2 strikers. Still creating little offense.
Plan E = ? I don't know what is next, Maybe go back to pressing with new players like Kane and Stambouli in. but Poch has tried many things

Really should have had Kane and Lamela in the starting 11 but good to see he's noticing when someone is having a shit game or our system isn't working and making the appropriate changes. Looked passionate as well when we scored, hopefully this is an opportunity for us to kick on now

So in your mind, a team has to play the same way, with the same players, week in week out?

Are you one of these idiots that keeps saying "Poch doesn't know his first 11"?
Why can't we play differently against different opposition. Why can't we play the big guys against stoke and the fast guys against slower teams, etc. Thats the point of a fucking squad isn't it. If we play with the same people in the same formations every game, its not going to take long for teams to work out our weaknesses.

I swear sometimes i think I'm the only person on this board that really undertands football.

Be calm and read the thread.
I replied to a comment that Poch has no plan B. If you want to read something else into it - that's up to you.
I think Spurs should play the whole squad and I'd like to see Fazio against Big Strikers, like Benteke.
I do think Poch is struggling to find a squad that works consistently - but he keeps trying. Hard to tell if it is Poch or the players at fault for the lack of consistent good play.

I think that people who expected things to go smoothly from the off are living in cloud cuckoo land. Realistically, he has to be given the time to make things work and be allowed to bring the players he wants. Only then can we really judge him. I doubt he will get the time he needs, but minimum has to be two seasons.
Thanks to our trigger-happy chairman, we always seem to be in a transitional period.

MOTD has started Mrs P. I seem to remember you said you hadn't seen the game. Huge apologies if I'm wrong.
